Laugh if you want but I was disquieted a few years ago at how many people mocked the idea of learning cursive.
When you dismiss something that’s whimsical or lovely for its own sake, you go down a grim, lifeless, uninspired path of flat greys and push button slop.

Exactly. And something *has* died, thus why everyone is using "autopsy" or "post-mortem" rather than "debriefing". Maybe a report didn't have to be released but many should be created. Anti-incumbency happens every two years, this was different.

@TheStefanSmith Unfortunately, most humans, younger ones in particular, are not good at understanding the sheer scale and numbers we have here. The difficulty to do so is also compounded by demographics being as skewed as they are in geography and beltway media influence.

The Party is run by elite, college educated folks who do not believe something is real or legitimate unless there is a report. Documentation, and reverence for text and legibility, is one of the hallmarks of the class.

Well, yes, Harris clearly chose Walz because he wasn't ambitious and she didn't think he'd outshine her, and he certainly delivered in that area.

@SER1897 She wanted to choose Pete. Ultimately I think he dodged a bullet, but he COULD have made up for her deficiencies as a communicator. He also would have outshone her in many ways.

I was actually done with Harris when she explained why she didn't choose Shapiro -- instead going for Walz but then wouldn't accept the consequence of this choice (Walz bombed his debate with Vance). She wanted an unambitious, not impressive VP who was also a shark.

All of these things can be true. And are.

I have plenty of criticisms of Joe Biden, but he clearly seems like a really good and decent human being. I’d have taken him at his least successful point over Trump any day of the week.

My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family, as her husband battles this serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery. While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy, let’s be clear: Tulsi Gabbard’s only positive contribution to our nation's national security is her resignation. She politicized intelligence. She dismantled critical agencies keeping Americans safe. She weaponized the IC to pursue baseless election fraud claims. And more. We must ensure that her tenure — marked by a devotion to the person of the president and not to the security of the country — represents a terrible exception at DNI and not the new normal.

@speechboy71 Anti-incumbency didn't win everywhere. E.g., Croatia, Hungary, Spain, Greece, and ... Mexico. They had a clear leadership transition strategy for starters, we had a rocky one. Economic policies worked too.
