I want to give a big shoutout to Jeff Hoffman. He handled the closer situation with pure professionalism and it hasn’t fazed him whatsoever. He’s given up one run in his last six appearances in the set up role and was very good again last night. Long may it continue! #BlueJays

The hypocrisy of this award is on full display on two fronts: 1. If it's a point scoring award (which is basically has been for the past 20 years), not including Bouchard here is a massive snub. In that timeframe the points leader won 11 times, second won it 4 times, and the remaining times (V. Hedman (5th), D. Doughty (9th), D. Keith (6th), Z. Chára (12th), N. Lidström (5th)) closed out the remainder. I haven't checked but I would bet the leader was a finalist in all those cases. 2. If in fact it's a defensive award now, not including Moritz Seider is a snub of epic proportions. He is far and away the best defensive defenseman in the league. One has to question how the conclusions of the voters were drawn, it's not a bad list, but I'm not sure I can call it fair when the guy that led all of these guys by 14 points isn't even a finalist.

Not downplaying Bouchard's season. It was very good, but when Erik Karlsson won the Norris with 101 points, it wasn't just points. With him on the ice San Jose was even 5x5. Without him they were -52 (72-124). And he had 34 more points than closest teammate.

“Evan Bouchard didn’t deserve the Norris” - Evan Bouchard has better defensive metrics than all of Norris finalists - Evan Bouchard led the Norris finalists by a combined 51 points - Evan Bouchard faced the 10th most difficult competition in the entire league - Evan Bouchard played more PK relative to this teammates than any of the Norris Finalists - Evan Bouchard has a Goal Dif On Ice vs Off Ice higher than all Norris finalists combined by a 41 goal margin - Evan Bouchard played with the worst goaltending in the NHL and the worst defensive system - Evan Bouchard had less giveaways leading to goals than the other finalists combined - Evan Bouchard was lights out to end the season while some of the finalists ghosted - Evan Bouchard should be the Norris winner but he’s not because of Eastern pundits and morons who watch Tiktok Clips to base their perception of a player If you believe he’s not deserving of the Norris, that says something about your hockey knowledge. @hubyszn Absolutely. I’m sad they didn’t win. But I always understood that it’s a lottery. Our chances of moving up were 20% our chances of moving down were 80%. It’s just math.

I truly hope that this teaches the #Flames FakeFans™️ (aka Team Tank) that tanking DOES NOT WORK! It’s a fkn lottery. This was always the most probable outcome. Maybe we can all move forward and cheer for the team to take steps forward on the ice.

Another thought I just had. We’re on the right track with San Jose, but I wonder if there’s a different play here… To SJ: #6 overall, NYR 2nd round pick, Zach Whitecloud To CGY: Micheal Misa SJ can take Malhotra at 2 to replace the C spot, still take a Dman at 6.

#Flames Team Tank FakeFans™️ are ruined. Their master plan was to…(checks notes) win a lottery. Coincidentally, it’s also their master plan for getting out of their parents basement and not have to make Teen Burgers for a living.

@MatchsticksCGY I get the disappointment, but we need to stop treating draft positioning as a constant in factoring player performance (& value) at the nhl level - with the possible exception for #’s 1 & 2 although there ha e plenty of #1 overall busts!!)

Flames will end up not even getting their second top five pick in team history. They fall from #4 to #6, absolutely sickening. Leafs handed #1, Sharks get ANOTHER top pick.

The funniest part of the whole thing is ultimately, based on how the bingo balls fell, the Flames didn’t win enough games down the stretch to get No. 1 pick.
