Friday PSA: Just because your address says Richmond (or Magnolia or Webster or pick any other Houston-area city) doesn't necessarily mean you live in that city. (Thank USPS for that.)

I'm definitely guilty of doing this many times myself in my journalism career (because I could and was expected to). In the internet age, this destroys life. There's a reason media in many other countries don't name those who are merely charged or accused.

I hope this is a wake-up call for US media not to name those accused of something before their guilt has been proven or at least reasonably established. houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-t…
