You’re getting tailgated by a lifted Silverado with LED headlights bright enough to interrogate you. Too fast? Doesn’t matter, there’s already a guy in a beat up Altima doing 95 weaving through traffic like he’s late for something extremely illegal. You try to hold a respectable 75. Immediately passed on both sides. One car has no headlights. Another has its hazards on for no reason. Somehow both are going faster than you. And then, out of nowhere, Brake lights. Not gradual. Not polite. Just a full interstate wide decision to stop all traffic flow for 30 seconds. No accident. No construction. No explanation. Just vibes. You finally get moving again and think, "Okay, we’re good." Wrong. It starts to rain. Not normal rain. Florida rain. (IYKYK) The kind that erases the road, your mirrors, your sense of direction, and any belief you had in visibility. Wipers on max, still losing the fight. Meanwhile, someone flies past you doing 85 like they’ve got sonar. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s a gator in a retention pond right next to the highway, watching traffic like it’s judging your driving choices. No toll booth warning. No buildup. The NYT reported about how a male serial murderer of women was allowed into a women’s shelter in NYC despite the terror of the women forced to be confined with him. He went on to behead and dismember yet another woman weeks later. He is back in a women’s prison. The people working relentlessly to inflict male murderers and rapists onto women locked in prisons and shelters are zealots who think they are the best people in the world at the vanguard of humanity as they inflict danger and humiliation onto vulnerable women. They are carrying out the will of center-Left political parties across the Western world. There has never been a cult this deranged with this much power in the post-Enlightenment world.

Then I realized my family has treated out windshields my whole life & this was just the first untreated one. Night & day difference!

This is Bertha - and this is exactly the situation I have been struggling with. She was my first cow purchase. Bought her as a milk cow and then soon learned she was mostly past time for being a good milk cow. She’s about 14 or 15 years old. Still gives a calf each year but her time for a natural end is coming quickly. Many would take her to the sale barn, receive some money for her. It’s difficult to explain but that feels wrong - it’s not, but it feels terrible. So at this point she will likely live her life out here, she’ll serve as a lead cow (she’s really not great for that either), but she will do okay. She means a lot to me and I just don’t want to think of her at auction or otherwise being transported somewhere away from this farm. So for now, and likely until her very end, she remains here.
