@superiorbox @ConspiracyBull1 Yes, especially when they don't understand it. Taiwan is a mix of *different* migrations from the mainland, and the natives. Different languages have been dominant through its history. Perhaps ironically, here the lefties are the pro- independence/status quo party.

@ConspiracyBull1 Even if granted that Taiwanese geopolitical situation is unique and convoluted - it still matters what people actually want. Tankies like to point at Taiwanese complicated identity issue but that has little to do with people here not wanting to live under a totalitarian regime.

This just further confirms these people learned nothing from Ukraine. It's like when they equate NATO expansion in Eastern Europe to Russia rolling in the tanks and invading its neighbors.
One is justified under international law and aligned with what the majority of public and democratically elected governments of those countries want, the other is not. There is no equivalence here.

@ConspiracyBull1 By this tankie logic the US has every right to annex Canada as long as it claims it. So, by definition, opposing such an act would be meddling with the US internal affairs (Canada being internal to the US). Same for every country.

I think it's cause the Palestinian refugee/right of return issue hasn't been resolved and the Nakba being more tied to the founding of Palestinian identity and political claims. But in my opinion that should be mentioned to.
Any honest discussion on this conflict should acknowledge wrong doings from either side.
