The Makerfield election like Gorton and Denton will be another 3 way race between the Green Party, Reform and Labour. Don't be thinking the Green Party can't win here as well, a lot has changed since 2024 and they have 5x as many members and about 5x as many voters.

If they block Burnham from standing it’d cause an internal riot. If Burnham loses the by-election it’d be a fuck up of epic proportions. If this happens, Starmer will stay in post for the time being. It’s not going to be a boring year in politics. Which is arguably needed.
