●Cap hell ●AHL Defense ●Unsigned Gauthier and no space to sign him unless you trade and make even more roster holes You got the Flyers good!!!! Sounds like a great time in Anaheim 😅

32 Thoughts (Summer Finale): On Philadelphia… • They did the Carlsson offer sheet because they want a star and a difference maker. • Elliotte heard they would have went hard at Kaprizov if he didn’t re-sign in Minnesota. • He says Briere will be a target now (by other GM’s). • There was internal discussion on if the offer sheet would work and Elliotte is a little surprised they didn’t go a little higher than 18m. He says nobody saw this coming. • Will there be a different big move if Anaheim matches? #LetsGoFlyers

If the Ducks match on Carlsson, the Flyers are not simply going to shift to another offer sheet target. Carlsson OS was a process that involved a lot of planning, was based on some strategic intel about how Anaheim ownership is/is not willing to allocate its operations budget and finding a specific fit -- not just any 1C but this particular one. If it does not succeed, the focus most likely moves back within, perhaps with a stopgap PP defenseman added. But main thing will getting own roster players signed and planning for Michkov next year.

Flyers fans not being able to grasp that the Ducks can make cap space for Cutter's deal by shipping out bad contracts really shows a concerning lack of understanding basic arithmetic
