The new go-to for NHL salary cap info. With CapFriendly now closed, we're working hard to fill the gap. 🏒📊 Support: https://t.co/JtHr0e0t8Q

In Part 1 we tried to play nice. But what if you're a GM who chooses violence? Part 2: Supercharging the Offer Sheet tldr: > be Carolina > offer sheet Carlsson at $21M > flip him to Philly and swap picks > retain $3-5M and grab an extra pick > or take two firsts + players now

Five more years of LEO! nhl.com/ducks/news/duc…

If the Ducks match on Carlsson, the Flyers are not simply going to shift to another offer sheet target. Carlsson OS was a process that involved a lot of planning, was based on some strategic intel about how Anaheim ownership is/is not willing to allocate its operations budget and finding a specific fit -- not just any 1C but this particular one. If it does not succeed, the focus most likely moves back within, perhaps with a stopgap PP defenseman added. But main thing will getting own roster players signed and planning for Michkov next year.

Quick recap: Anaheim reportedly offered Carlsson 12.5M. Leo's camp countered with 15M. Flyers Offer sheet came in at 18M. Was there a way to avoid this cap carnage? Here's our modest proposal to use offer sheets as a tool of peace instead of war:
