New polling shows twice as many people in Scotland back the Windfall Tax on oil and gas profits. 📊 41% support it 📊 19% oppose it Support spans voters from across the political spectrum. This comes as energy companies continue to make tens of billions in profits while households struggle with high bills. Since 2020, oil and gas companies operating in the UK have made £125 billion in profits, and that’s with the Windfall Tax in place. Unsurprisingly the industry is lobbying politicians to scrap the levy. The public can see the unfairness, and as long as people see the disparity between their own living conditions and the excess profits made by energy firms, support for the Windfall Tax will continue.
