This is indeed something that Virginia has done for over 200 years. This has always been such a hot topic there that politicians have made entire careers out of vowing to end it. Including my high school English teacher's ex-husband, Jim Gilmore. This was in the 90s. It wasn't successful.

@TavieMoore2 @mattlantz Many years, the trees will turn a very dullish red-to-brown then fall off. This year is a good one!

@mattlantz @FoliageReport Lacy Oak was all green Monday. Today it’s almost all red.

This illustrates the unusual fall we are having in N.Texas. Middle of December and some trees are just starting to show color. Others already well past peak. I assume a dry and warm fall is to blame. (In years past these trees all turned together) #dfwwx @FoliageReport

@Heena77142958 @kylecotner There's only one state which doesn't have fall colors, it is Hawaii. Most people think Florida but the Cypress trees show an auburn color in Nov-Dec.

Leaf Daddy (@kylecotner) here to report there are majestic peak fall colors showing currently in Dallas, Texas. This is a later peak than typical as we were fooled by a “false peak” from late November. More pictures incoming!

@WumboBillyBob @mattlantz It's one of the more vibrant color seasons for sure, 2021 was a great year as well. The overcast skies tend to help this out because the sun doesn't drown out the vibrancy of colors. -Leaf Daddy

@mattlantz @FoliageReport Oddly this is the most colorful fall I can remember in North Texas. I wasn't sure if it was ever going to come.

@SCweather_wx Ha! I can tell you that this is the best fall color season for DFW down through the Hill Country since 2021. While not normally as vibrant, peak color typically happens late November/Early December.

Texas is stuck in the Twilight Zone I am sure in 2-3 weeks it’ll be snowing at 8° in Dallas.
