Thank you to everyone involved at Barnsley, 14 years at the club and loved every minute. Thank you to all the staff and players who’ve been there during my time, not the way I’d of liked it to end with the long injury, but ready to go now at @sligorovers
Been a pleasure♥️
Unfortunately Wednesday was a sad day for @MYHTUrology we have had to celebrate the retirement of one of my great colleagues and mentor SKS. A small(ish) fuddle for 40 friends and several retirement parties planned. We know how to say goodbye @DosMyht@MidYorkshireNHS
@refsupportuk@hdafl Interesting, do you ever see those making the comments from the sides offering g to referee? No they don’t have the balls to but happy to give advice from the side and abuse someone that is there to ensure their game goes ahead. What would happen without a referee, no ref no game
We've been made aware of an incident in the @HDAFL on a match over the weekend where a female referee suffered such significant abuse she has decided to quit refereeing. The offending club called her, amongst other things, 'a f***ing cheat' and a 'joke that doesn't belong on a football pitch'. This referee has been refereeing for just under a year, achieved a promotion and has been involved in cup finals already, all whilst suffering and recovering from a broken leg, and has now decided to put down the whistle in response to this issue.
We are aware that when the league were asked to respond decisively and strip the appointed official from the offending teams next home game, a small punishment for the offence committed, the management committee refused to do so deeming it to be an 'unfair' punishment. We would ask that the HDAFL Management Committee reconsider this decision and act to take a stand in supporting grassroots referees and stamping out the unacceptable levels of abuse that exist within the game.
If teams act like this then we believe they should not get a ref the following week.
