Just wrapped up teaching at the BAUS Intro to Robotics course organised by @MHussainUrol - an incredible experience! Delegates got hands-on training on multiple robotic platforms. Honored to be part of such an inspiring faculty! 🤖 #baus2025

100 robotic kidney cases @MidYorkshireNHS in the bag. Top-notch team, great variety- some tricky, all rewarding. >50% retroperitoneal. Great outcomes for our patients. Nice deep retro partial and very stuck retro nephrectomy today to mark the milestone. #lovemyjob #urology

Interesting read. An area with minimal evidence and also a wide range of opinions clearly. Well done for starting the conversation.

Out in @EurUrolOpen our global 🌎 Delphi consensus about #tumor #rupture during #robotic #partialnephrectomy! This consensus forms a basis for future #research on tumor rupture in #RAPN, emphasizing need for #standardized #definitions and uniform #management strategies. Bittersweet last shift in KSS today. After completing my foundation and core surgical training in this amazing deanery, I'm off to the @westmidsurol for #urology training. Grateful for all my mentors who paved the way. Onwards and upwards! 🚀

Last chance to apply for our renal oncology fellowship Oct 25-26. Opportunity to be exposed to over 200 cases over the course of a year, from robot partial to open level IV caval thrombectomy. imperial.nhs.uk/careers/search…

@Urodoc46 @sharaf20581 Extraction incision will still be a fraction compared to full open and all the exposure needed to do full op. Major benefits on blood loss and recovery also. We did a 16cm 2.5kg tumour robotically. Big extraction site yes but patient still went home POD2.

@sharaf20581 Considering the massive incision you'll need to get it out what benefit would lap or robotic have?

@Urodoc46 @PeteGrice @benstarmer "Guaranteeing" the inclusion of complex centralised procedures into rotations isn't practical as each year group of trainees is different. Fellowship model is here to stay though some will manage without. Plenty more fellowships being offered around the country.

@PeteGrice @benstarmer @moaldiwani I think overseas fellowships (or even a year in London) are financially impossible for a lot of trainees. I think we need to guarantee good quality subspecialty training at St6/7 which unfortunately just doesn't happen in a lot of units

Fellowship debate in full swing @benstarmer 🗣️ we don’t talk about the financial cost associated with fellowships. @moaldiwani 🗣️ fellowship volume unparalleled and all high volume centres have a fellow! #BAUS24
