Stop the spray! Enough is enough, spraying forests with herbicides must stop. It is making them tinder dry worsening wildfires. Link in comments to Stop the Spray groups and petitions across Canada. #glyphosate

@KerryLynneFindl There aren't enough trees left though. Sure there are tree farms but mills don't want small diameter logs. The BC NDP reneged on their promises to protect old growth and the last bits are being logged as fast as possible.

As Minister of National Revenue, I cut 800,000 remittances, reducing the reporting burden on small businesses from every two weeks down to monthly. For that work, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business awarded me the Golden Scissors Award, recognition that real action to help entrepreneurs actually works. I understand the impact that excessive regulation has on both small and large businesses. Simple, common-sense changes can make an enormous difference. Yet too much government red tape continues to hurt British Columbia’s natural resource sector, preventing us from building the vibrant, renewable, and sustainable industries our province is capable of. We must open up this province’s natural resource sector, cut the red tape, and get government out of the way. Our businesses and workers deserve better. Join me if you agree conservativebc.ca/findlay

@globeandmail Logging thousands of living and dead hemlocks in Stanley Park was unnecessary and will lead to drier and hotter conditions. And it cost taxpayers over $20 million. Trees should have been properly assessed for rot but they weren't, there was only a cursory inspection.

@JeffNor50595241 @globeandmail Dead trees don't just fall on people. It was mostly living trees that fell during the windstorm late 2024. The Stanley Park hemlocks were not assessed properly for rot, etc. but were cut down just because they were hemlocks, including many with foliage.

@globeandmail It's better that these dead trees fall on people who skulk into the park to perform illicite activities.

Hidden antibiotics in river fish spark new food safety fears Antibiotics are quietly building up in rivers and fish—and even nature’s cleanup tools may come with surprising side effects. Researchers from the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture at the University of São Paulo (CENA-USP) have identified multiple classes of antibiotics in the Piracicaba River, a major waterway in São Paulo state, Brazil. Their findings, published in Environmental Sciences Europe, show that these substances are not only present in the water but also accumulate in fish. More in comments

The antibiotic they are dishing out foe the Meningitis B scaremongering is......Ciprofloxacin. The most evil, life destroying antibiotic class known to man. Dont believe me? Look up being "floxxed" or "flox injuries" with Fluroquinolones.

FIRES IN NEBRASKA? TODAY WE HAVE FLOODING IN HAWAII ! 16 inches of rain on Oahu in 24 hrs! Is this yet-another-Lahaina 2.0? One clue is that you won't find this on the MSM. For some odd reason they don't report on these types of disasters. Post your reports from Oahu below (include photos if possible?).

A data centre in Etobicoke was approved to consume 1.2B litres/year. This World Water Day, governments must address the imbalance between AI data centres and the water security of our communities, including 37 First Nations communities under long-term boil water advisories. unifor.org/news/all-news/…

Yeah don’t worry, they’ll live on with AI photos. The world would rather spend billions blowing each other up and building AI megacentres rather than all band together and protecting rainforest…

The Sumatran rhino isn’t just rare—it's a living relic from another era. This shaggy survivor outlasted ice ages and ancient predators, but now hides in tiny rainforest pockets, some never seen by humans. Only 34–47 left in the wild.

Chinese trawlers competes with whales for Antarctic krill, following same feeding routes, even install GPS on them to track them That disrupts their patterns, pushing them into shallow waters just to feed, or leaving them malnourished, only to be stranded in coasts like this-

@Bratt_world @KirkLubimov @agrariangrrl I agree with Bratt, pick a lane dude. Can't work together if we are always nit picking. If they want to take the trees out, let them do it. Might save a massive forest fire, and these old growth forests do need to be cut back anyways.

There are more plans to destroy coastal rainforests with full blessing of the self described "land stewards. Coastal old growth forests that will never be renewed and critical wildlife habitat gone forever. Also right by and part of some of the most popular recreational areas.

@ShareawareCdn There is only less than 3% of valley bottom old growth left and even that is being logged. Second growth is becoming pretty depleted and mills are moving south. We need to slow down and do more with what we have.

If anyone is up on this latest disgrace of the BC Forestry please do inform us! The latest I heard is that BC Forestry is DONE, without harvesting old growth, they could not produce a 2x4 piece of lumber. We can't even fufill domestic needs. Someone needs to look into this seriously.
