The One, Big, Beautiful Bill is unlikely to reduce the overall budget, debt, or deficit. Congressional Budget Office estimates suggest it will increase the deficit by $6 trillion over a decade, mainly due to extending the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and new tax breaks. While it includes Medicaid cuts, these savings ($560B-$880B) don't offset the revenue loss. Higher deficits will likely increase the national debt. Some argue tax cuts could spur growth, but estimates show this won't balance the fiscal impact. Medicaid cuts also raise concerns about harming low-income Americans.
