Last week, our CEO Dallas McInerney and Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools, Danielle Cronin CF, met with Br Kelvin Canavan.
With a long history of teaching in schools, serving in principal roles, and administrative and leadership roles, Br Kelvin has brought the best out of every role he has been in with a profound love of Christ and his Mission.
Br Kelvin Canavan served as the executive director of Catholic Schools from 1987-2009 in the Archdiocese of Sydney. In this role and every other, he devoted his energies tirelessly to Catholic education, and laid the foundations of service, accountability and faith on which our system thrives today.
Every year at our education Law Symposium, we present the Br Kelvin Canavan Catholic School Leadership Award to those people who have made exceptional contributions to Catholic Education through their leadership, as Br Kelvin has.
Today we continue to see these fruits of his leadership, and we celebrate and honour this.

Hearing this morning from Cardinal Grech on synodality. There is no synodality, he said, without hearing the cry of those who are poor, who suffer injustice. What is clear from reports is that in many places in the Church we don’t know how to do that. We must learn. @iamCARITAS
