Friends, I’m running for Oklahoma AFL-CIO President. Now more than ever, Oklahomans need the kinds of policies that unions fight for. I’ve worked alongside Oklahomas unions during my time as a state representative, and I hope to work for them soon. Let’s get to work!

I have spent the last six days discussing with experts strategies to bring down the price of oil, fertilizer, and other key commodities necessary for modern life, and here are my preliminary findings. 1) End this stupid war.

My best tip for anyone trying to get back into reading is to remember that you can read books to avoid other responsibilities in your life, and it can become a vice if you play your cards right.

@JasonHanson2028 @brianschatz I’m a former politician from a deep red oil & gas state. I’m keenly aware of the absurd power that lobby has on our politics. And I guess my frustration is that your *understandable* frustration isn’t aimed at the lobbies that block development and the politicians they’ve bought.

@brianschatz @ForrestBennett So we have (according to ChatGPT) 96 reactors operating in the U.S. - the most in the world - but we’re not building any new large-scale facilities? Is that true? That doesn’t sound like major improvements or innovation on our part?

@JasonHanson2028 @brianschatz This ain’t it, man. He’s more polite than me but this response is not helpful. He’s one of 100. Do you get that and choose to be an asshole anyway or what’s the deal? Maybe try something like: @brianschatz glad you’re supportive. How can we spur movement federally on this issue?

@brianschatz That’s words. And that’s fine and I’m glad you are, but people need action and you’re a United States Senator. If you want nuke plants - if you REALLY DO - then where the action - the grand bargain - to actually do it?

Democrats don’t understand that the vast majority of Americans can’t stand EITHER party. And every two years, they vote for the party they hate the least. The way for Democrats to break this pattern is to be what my now authoritarian former party can never be - fully anti-corruption and fully pro-bold reforms to our broken political system. Oh…and Democrats need to speak like normal fucking human beings.

@chrissky_ @cowlesbian Well golf clothing can be unflattering. Especially if one is fat. Especially if one is sitting. And the man referenced in that tweet is in fact fat. Said another way: Truth hurts

ai can’t write good because it’s designed to write pleasantly average sentences with all the right words in the right order and imho good writing requires u to strategically deploy a word that is wrong and maybe even evil

You should read this thread & the article at the end. Billionaires, whose wealth insulates them from many of the consequences of bad public policy the rest of us can’t dodge, are essentially controlling our politics & shaping our economy so that it works for them. At our expense.
Mike Baker@ByMikeBaker

NEW: We just published a deep dive into just how much billionaires are now dominating U.S. politics. We found 300 billionaire families accounted for 19% of federal donations in 2024. The deluge was even larger in many state and local races. 1/7 nytimes.com/2026/03/09/us/…

Will be taking in a professional sporting contest in downtown Championship City this evening. Unapologetically pro-Dort, for the record. Shai is the way, as they say. For these and other musings you can find me in LOUD CITY 🏀 ⚡️

Louisville and Lexington players paused the USL Championship season opener for 60 seconds after kickoff, letting the clock run without play. A fearless show of unity from @USLPlayers as negotiations reach a critical stage. It’s time for the league to act. #StandUpForStandards

we’ve entered the "ceo eats a burger” phase of late-stage capitalism where multi-millionaires pretend to have mustard on their faces to build brand trust with people who can't afford rent

Can’t stop thinking about Jeff Bezos, worth $241 billion, sailing on his $500 million yacht to his $55 million wedding while he fires 30,300 workers & attacks a 5% wealth tax on billionaires through the @washingtonpost that he bought for $250 million. Democracy dies in oligarchy

One big thing to watch for in the Texas Senate primary, both GOP and the Dem one, is who gets the most votes. That'll be an indicator of who is doing better.
