VIDEO (cued): Slide deck presented today from City of Boston presenting a timeline of events this summer (FIFA, Tall Ships, Boston 250, etc) impacting Boston and outlying neighborhoods. Fascinating stuff, worth a watch. Hat tip Councilor @Ruthzee. youtu.be/MiNQuWchaUE?si…

Great work today by Chair / Councilor @Ruthzee and panelists, bringing attention to social and economic opportunities for neighborhoods to benefit from FIFA's Boston 2026 games and the Tall Ships. 🔥 Worth a listen to pros & cons of various concepts... youtu.be/MiNQuWchaUE?si…

For those who believe I've held BPDA undr Mayor Wu to a different standard than any other admin: 👉🏽 Take a hike. I've spent 30 yrs in the trenches of permitting, not once selling out. See below. Wu's BPDA deserves props for quite a bit. But areas need work. Nothing gets a pass.

Grandstanding on "fiscal responsibility" by City Councilors is to be expected. But when you're slamming colleagues week after week in the Herald, while proposing spending initiatives at a cost exceeding all Council colleagues combined... ...it's high time someone spoke up.
The Fort Pointer@FortPointer

Councilor Flynn is leading on calls to cut insignificant budget items such as participatory budgeting ($1.2m). Ask Councilor Flynn what *significant* budget cuts proposed by the admin he’s solidly backing, knowing he’ll get blowback from constituents and City workers. None.

MUST WATCH Video (cued): Mayor Wu and Reverend/Councilor Culpepper address Dr. Theodore (Ted) Landsmark as he retires from BPDA Board. Too often we wait until people are gone to appreciate them. It's a joy to see and hear these words... youtu.be/I1yHk1ePMCY?si… 🙏🏽❤️🔥

$46m for public investment in FIFA’s Boston 2026 was just released by the feds. $20m from the Commonwealth. There’s only 3 months left to plan before the games begin. 😡 Imagine being Boston’s tourism czar in this insane enviro. He would’ve been slammed for doing too little.

Kind words below from Mayor Wu today for Ted Landsmark on his last day serving on the BPDA Board. Mayor Wu states it quite well, Landsmark is a legend. His history is worth a read. Best to you and thank you, Mr. Landsmark. 🙏🏽 cssh.northeastern.edu/faculty/theodo…

Read my BRAINTEASER below and you’ll learn exactly how Seaport Common at full build will be significantly smaller than its original square footage as permitted in 2010. A series of shell games were pulled off. Lies? Prevarication? Manipulation? Or just good old-fashioned sales?
The Fort Pointer@FortPointer

BRAINTEASER SOLUTION A tiny retail pavilion was originally planned on Seaport Common. WS expanded the retail pavilion to a whopping 30,000 square foot, multi-story commercial building. Two years later, WS had BPDA eliminate that building. That’s how Seaport Common “expanded!”

BRAINTEASER In 2010, Seaport Common (Block F) was approved as a 1.3-acre public park (pic #1), upon which, a temporary bldg would be sited for max of 20 years (today, District Hall). District Hall remains. WS claims Seaport Common (Block F) has massively expanded. You tell me.

No mention by BPDA of the 5,000sf civic use obligation. Why? Because BPDA couldn't give a rat's ass about civic or cultural use obligations. A 23,500sf Ch91 cultural space is wrapping up construction at Fan Pier Parcel H. BPDA forgot to pay attn to ceiling height. EPIC FAIL
The Fort Pointer@FortPointer

BREAKING (1/2): WS has filed for a Ch91 license for Seaport Sq Block G, signaling this project may be moving fwd. Block G, approved as housing (2017), flipped to office in 2019. MEMO to BPDA: Block G includes a 5,000sf civic space which should open onto abutting Seaport Common.
