My girlfriend of 4.5 years wants her name on a house I’m buying, but she doesn’t want to get married or contribute to the down payment.
Early on in the relationship, we had an agreement where I’d give her $2,000 a month. The idea was that if we broke up, she would keep it, but if we got married, it would go toward a house down payment. Over time, that’s added up to about $110k. Now I’m in my mid-30s and ready to settle down. I want to buy a house and start a family. The problem is, she says she’s still not ready to get engaged or married.
So I told her I still want to move forward with buying a house and putting 20% down, but I’d like to stop the $2k monthly payments. She said she’s okay with that, but only if I put her name on the house.
That’s where I’m struggling.
I told her I’d be open to that if we were married, or at least if she contributed a similar amount toward the down payment. Realistically, she could use the $110k I’ve already given her, since that was supposed to go toward a house anyway. But she doesn’t want to do that either. So now it feels like I’m stuck between two options. Either I keep paying her $2k a month and buy the house under my name, hoping she eventually wants to get married, or I stop paying and put her name on the house now, even though she’s not contributing and doesn’t want to commit yet.
Financially, the second option saves me money in the short term, but it also feels like I’m taking on a lot of risk for someone who isn’t willing to meet me halfway. I’m starting to question whether I’m being unreasonable here, or if I’m ignoring something I shouldn’t be ignoring.

Muslims all over Europe are freaking out after Sweden made a historic and courageous decision: it will no longer use the term “Islamophobia,” coined by the Muslim Brotherhood, because it is a politically manipulated concept aimed at silencing criticism of Islam.
Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard announced that her government will push the European Union and the United Nations to stop using this fraudulent term.
The concept of “Islamophobia” was deliberately designed to equate legitimate criticism of Islamic doctrine with racism. It was weaponized to shut down discussion about core Islamic texts containing commands to wage war, rape, and subjugate non-Muslims.
Sweden just recognized what millions of Europeans already know: criticizing a religion that openly calls for the murder and sexual enslavement of non-believers is not a phobia, but basic common sense and self-preservation.
This is a massive blow to the Islamist lobby across Europe.
Do you agree with Sweden’s decision?

@LairdOfThManor I have that power too. I was looking at a mass of cushions and my pick was five times the price of the rest of them. It shows a discerning eye!

When shopping today with the Lady of the Manor she casually, and loudly I might add, said that my superpower is magically choosing the most expensive option, without even seeing the price tag… and I think that’s one of the most beautiful things she has ever said to me. 💙🎩

@TheGriftReport @DCBMEP We have a fully covered Muslim girl in our health center with a very soft voice. I couldn’t lip read so eventually she came out from behind the desk and whispered it in my ear. I was looked at with disapproval by another receptionist.

GP struck off for asking Muslim woman to remove veil so he could hear her properly during consultation.
Dr Keith Wolverson, a locum GP at urgent care centres in Derby and Stoke, asked Mrs Q three times to take off her niqab while she described her daughter’s symptoms.
He told her he couldn’t hear her due to “poor English” and needed to see her mouth movements.
She refused for religious reasons but eventually complied; she later complained she felt “victimised and racially discriminated against.”
Wolverson was already facing 17 other misconduct charges (including criticising patients’ English skills in notes). He was suspended in 2022 but kept working anyway and failed to attend the final tribunal hearing.
The panel ruled he showed “flagrant disregard” for the process, had no insight, and posed an ongoing risk to patients.
Another doctor erased for putting basic medical need above political correctness.

This was probably what led to her safety being at risk
