Almost every province and territory has a Provincial Mammal.
These animals represent the history and culture of the province, and are sometimes native to only that province/territory area.
These are our provincial mammals!

@boates02@kristinaennis Sure if you say so...
Diverts attention away from other critical issues IE, people spending 16 hours in Emergency or government buying land for $20 million it had sold for a small fraction & is well above fair market value.
But sure accounting entries are most important.
@kristinaennis@Fostus No. It’s too critical a juncture for this province to have this kind of nonsense going on.
The Whelan payments are inexcusable, and the government’s continued defence of it is a sign of gross incompetence.
@boates02@kristinaennis Ok, you do realize where the funding for MCP comes from? And we do pay taxes? MCP is a subsidiary of NL Government, we are the shareholders, and there are budgets & accounting which tie these together.
Not the first time I would have to explain the basics of public finance.
@boates02@kristinaennis Comes out of exact same pot of $ we all pay into. In essence, people are fighting over accounting entries rather than anything material.
How is housing doing? What every happened to 500 new units promised, or $34 MILLION?
Those are more important than accounting entries!
@kristinaennis if gov’s record and pace continues as-is right now, the “Blue Book” ain’t worth the paper it’s written on
“lowering taxes” = lowering from 7.5c/L to… 7.5c/L
“improving healthcare” by funneling MCP funds to a friend of the party
…what other horrors await us?
@kaebee23 Simple, smaller and flying under the radar, but steady, long lived and providing a needed service... sounds like a good investment.
A few wind generators could be built near the Witless Bay Line, but in moderation and not being an eyesore.
One of these days people might understand we need other viable options. I fucking doubt it though. Loves their fat wallet from the oil money too much. Keep drilling. 🫠
@kaebee23 Small scale hydro operations are generally more stable, which is a good thing for all of us. This generating station is owned by Fortis, with proper regulation they get a good stable return on investment & we have our lights on without major price fluctuations.
The volatility of gold mining stocks remains legendary! 🪙⛏️
It can easily swing from a super bull market to a depression in a matter of weeks, as evidenced by the Gold Miners Bullish Percent Index dropping to a new multi-year low following this week's crash. 👇

@J_Wise_geology When sea is rough stay out, less chances of getting wrecked on rocks trying to avoid storm.
Watch out for pirates: Black Bart & Peter Easton
Surprising what financial understanding you gain from 400 years of history in Ferryland including piracy, that you don't in academia.
@nukefoundland Last course I did through them was the Canadian Securities Course... at the end of the last century in Toronto.
Skills are currenty getting used dealing with Sr Buracrats and windfarm scammers...
@PH_OSINT@CraigBaird Conception Bay is a different story. Many Channel Islanders and others from Southern England immigrated, although Portuguese & Spanish were here before.
Seen in names such as Portugal Cove & Spaniards Bay, but Manuels has same spelling as King Manuel en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manuel_I_…
The Robin Hood of Butter Pot led the Masterless Men of Newfoundland.
This society was made up of individuals who sought freedom in the interior of the island, free of British rule.
No matter what the British did, they could never catch them.
This is their story.

@PH_OSINT@CraigBaird The Gardens in behind the Butterpot were found by a geologist who was working in there about 30 years ago. I have found a few other sources on the treatment of the Irish youngsters by the British Masters. Ironically, Irish immigrants to Placentia area were treated much better.
Exploration data processing: 6-12 months manually vs. 2-4 weeks with AI.
90-95% time reduction.
Why are most teams still doing it the old way? What's the barrier?

@goldstocktrades I started when gold was $250... was a lot easier to get around back then, was also a lot easier to find under explored silver mines with gold.
During these years I dedicated my entire life to researching and accumulating gold and silver miners. I had a premium newsletter with thousands of subscribers at one point when I was young, healthy and had more time.
@stphnmaher@NS_Grateful Lots of rum came to Newfoundland from St Pierre, France no little game needed.
Might be why the French Navy ship stopped into St. John's this week.
