@heymosef @fahdananta 100% agree that founders need spaces to connect & learn from peers. There are a few places where this is already happening: @FounderCityNow @PeerscaleINC Eh List @dovetailsummits (for women) and, if I do say so myself, we throw great events at @sharetheupside that do exactly this

Random: Had a chat with another founder recently where we both noted that people in Toronto only show their support once you have traction and have proved yourself. Whereas we both found that people is US are much more willing to support you from that start.

Rant time! I'm sick of banks, venture debt firms, and crown corporations with a mission to fund entrepreneurs talking about how they exist solely to help great ideas get off the ground - but in reality, make it nearly impossible to get money until you hit it big.

But the thresholds to even qualify are so beyond what should be considered a proven-out concept. We've used @clearbanc to fund our marketing, & it's no surprise they're disrupting the funding model. I hope other institutions find a way to similarly invest in early-stage founders.
