We join our community in profound shock and mourning following the sudden and untimely passing of Joan Amek last evening. A fearless queer feminist, social entrepreneur, and movement leader, Joan’s death has left us heartbroken. Her courage, care, and uncompromising commitment to justice shaped struggles, built institutions, and transformed countless lives. As we grieve this devastating loss, we honour a life lived boldly and generously in service of others. May she rest in power, and may her vision, love, and legacy continue to guide our community.

Dr Aisa Kirabo Kacyira has died after a long illness. She was Head of the United Nations Support Office in Somalia. Previously held various roles including Mayor of Kigali, ambassador, and Deputy Executive Director and Assistant Secretary-General, UN-HABITAT

I decided to drive to Nagongera police station where I found a patrol vehicle parked and it was apparent the officers were resting. I had make a 21 KM journey to seek help at CPS Tororo. The State of our policing response is disgusting. So is the state of our electoral processes

By the time you read this it may be 3.45 AM, EAST. I am seated at Tororo Central Police. A gang,armed with machetes, have been roaming and terrorizing the voters of West Budama North East Constituency since 8.30 PM. I have asked for the police to respond and nothing was done

@Lmc_89 I am honoured to be here. In respect of trial of civilians in military courts, Parliament has recommended to the Executive, by resolution, that it should be discouraged. The constitutionality of such trials are, however, a subject of a Constitutional Appeal.

@frankmugisha File an appeal to the Supreme Court and keep litigating. Discrimination can never be justified. Do not relent. LGBTQ persons are human beings who are entitled to equal protection of the law. That is my understanding of unadulterated public interest and policy.
