Russia literally put nukes in briefcases. Yes, they were heavy. But US soldiers occasionally backpack with more than 100lbs of gear. Just put the thing in a backpack. The word nuclear here is likely interchangeable with radioactive. Nuclear material combined with a traditional explosive device would cause massive secondary casualties. We all know what he was trying to say.

FYI a nuclear suicide vest isn’t feasible due to basic physics. Nuclear explosions require critical mass, which means slamming the particles together. It needs space, so containers are large & heavy. This isn’t limited by tech. It’s limited by physics and reality.

BREAKING: Elizabeth Warren, with Reps. Jayapal and Boyle, just dropped the ULTRA-MILLIONAIRE TAX ACT. The bill creates a 2% wealth tax on $50 million households, and an additional 1% wealth tax on billionaires. It raises $6.2 TRILLION from just 260,000 households. Obvious W.

@VanyaWright @BeardyBrandon This is completely subjective. Your husband is being awarded stock directly. Without vesting / performance guarantee / or options. There are several different ways to take stock compensation that require zero taxes upfront.

Tell me you don't know how rich people operate without telling me you don't know how rich people operate. Rich people, the kind she is talking about, don't stick money in a safe like Scrooge McDuck. They have assets, but don't own them. They own companies, and have shares, or their trust has shares, or... whatever. But this is just pandering to the dumb Americans who think Elon is sitting on a bank account with a trillion dollars. I'm all for finding ways to tax the rich more, but the rich are smarter than this.
Elizabeth Warren@SenWarren

Today, I'm introducing my wealth tax — and more than 50 members of Congress are joining me. It’s time for the government to start working for American families, not just the ultra-rich.

What an absolute scam American bought this 5 pounds of ground beef from Sam’s Club She put it on the scale, on camera, to show the true weight It’s only 4.14 pounds If you add the “meat diaper,” the absorbent pad under the ground beef, then it’s 5 pounds. We’re paying for the meat diaper

@FoxProtocolMNG @jlrizzoii @BeardyBrandon Property tax makes the most sense imo because the government's job is to protect the land. "Owning" your own land in a society isn't really completely possible because there are inherent restrictions we have to live with each other. Land value tax aligns incentives

@ennui365 Better question. Why are you taxing lottery winners? Dude wasn't a billionaire. We allowed him to become one by pooling our already taxed money. Then government decides to take nearly all the money we pooled together for an opportunity to become a billionaire.

So, you want to fund the government with a land lease then? Property Taxes need to go. It's probably the worse offender when it comes to taxes. Effectively just leasing property from the government. A flat tax on all goods / services is the most effective measure. The problem with a flat tax becomes that the government can no longer hide behind its thousands of different revenue sources and would have to put an honest figure to voters on how much money they require to operate. Flat Tax. No More Loans. The only Debt they can issue will come from bonds. + A portion of the flat tax will be contingent on the paydown of existing debt. And when that debt is paid the tax will reduce to a level that only covers the operating budget. No more vague money trails.

@jlrizzoii @BeardyBrandon The only problem with a flat tax is that it cannot be allowed to be considered a "sales tax" otherwise churches / Non-profits would still be tax shelters. If a flat tax becomes law. It must be absolute with exception or exemptions. Otherwise loopholes will still exist.

@FoxProtocolMNG @BeardyBrandon It's stuff like this is why I've become a supporter of flat tax. It has absolutely nothing to do with the tax payer, and everything to do with the tax collectors. If they have to tax everyone - they have to be more careful with the spend and the proposals. 1

National Debt comes from incurred spending. Money spent specifically by congress. Don't blame Reagan for 45 years of failed policy and greed on behalf of our elected officials. You're not reversing course. You're doing more of the same. Squeezing every dollar from taxpayers at gun point under the guise of making life in America better. You're a grotesque plague on our nation. Here's a name. John Malcom The end fitting of any politician who sees fit to rob the American Taxpayer.

This isn’t an abstract idea any longer. It is an absolute necessity. Our national debt started its rapid explosion after Reagan’s hare brained “trickle down” scam. It’s been 45 years and it has only trickled up and left our country on the verge of complete financial collapse. It’s time to reverse course and hope that it’s not too late.

I actually don’t partake in cannabis consumption - but since you asked… I have a thought experiment for the “I’m not paying for other people’s health insurance” crowd. Do you receive a wellness credit on your insurance premium each year? For example, my insurance company gives me a $600 annual credit each year, simply for having an annual physical and taking my preventative medications. Have you ever wondered why insurance companies do that? It is because it is far cheaper to insure people who are taking care of their health than those who aren’t. Now take that concept to a grander scale. When people say things like “I’m not paying other people’s bills!” Or “Someone has to pay for that!” What you are failing to realize is that we already ARE paying for that. We pay for it through taxes, we pay through increased insurance premiums, and we pay through higher healthcare costs overall. Why? Because someone has to cover the care for the uninsured. And the problem is, the uninsured only seek medical attention when it is an emergency - because they don’t have access to preventative medical care. I have worked in a hospital for 22 years. I’d venture that 50% of what comes through the ER are conditions that were completely preventable. Think about it. Covering someone’s annual physical and generic statin medication for 20 years is actually cheaper than ONE open heart surgery - that certainly could’ve been prevented if they had access to preventative medicine. Same could be said for blood pressure meds and metformin for diabetes. These medicines are dirt cheap, and if given access, could prevent billions, if not trillions of emergency care stemming from these conditions down the line. And that’s not even touching on the downstream benefits of a healthier workforce contributing to the overall economy. I know it’s a stretch, and I used to think *exactly* like you do, but if you really sit and think about the economics of it all, it really would be cheaper for all Americans in the long run. The reason we are all stuck in the old way of thinking is because there is too much money to be made in the United States on healthcare that there is MASSIVE lobbying happening constantly to keep us believing that we NEED for profit insurance companies. Why in the world do we need a company that we pay thousands into every year, who then denies our benefits at every opportunity, and then brags to their share holders that they profited $20 billion for the year? Do you realize how crazy that sounds? We give them our money, we almost never get the same value in return, and the only purpose they serve is to pad the pockets of their shareholders while literal human beings suffer. It is a dirty, dirty business. Just think about it. We are the only developed nation in the entire world that does not provide basic healthcare to their citizens. And we rank towards the bottom in all measurable healthcare metrics. We stay sick, and they get rich. Denying American citizens a universal healthcare option is the greatest scam that has ever been cast upon this country. Not only is getting profit out of healthcare the right thing to do, it is one of the most impactful moves we would make as a country to immediately reduce the deficit.

Why does the government need another 6.2 trillion dollars? Why do we keep passing new taxes? My roads look the same. My healthcare still sucks. My infrastructure seems to be working just fine. My kids go to school every day. No rolling blackouts. Gas Stations have gas. Grocery stores have food. Cell phone is working pretty well. Internet too. So, what is this supposed to pay for?

Ah so we should do it because of mob rule than? Nobody benefits from Social Security. Nearly everyone pays more into the program than it pays out. Or dies before they even see a dime from the program. It's a completely broken program that relies on more people working / living than in retirement or dying. Subsidizing the program with more money won't work either. Because it's run by a government that is so far in debt it's completely unfathomable. The program itself is flawed. Needs to go. Since were just printing money anyway. Why not just steal the money from the tax payer and fully fund the program directly via inflation? I got a few other moronic ideas in the tank too if were spending other peoples money anyway.

Sounds like you should do 2 things. Determine why you're willing paying $600 a month for a service you're hardly utilizing. Figure out why you didn't call around to determine the best rate for the medical service you were seeking. My local community center charges $75 for an office visit if you pay cash. Local Urgent Care is $110 for an office visit. Community Center requires no deductible or Co-pay for visit. They will bill you the amount after you leave. Must be paid in full before your next visit. I can get any antibiotic I want online without a doctors visit. Around $25 for a months supply. My last CT Scan was $99 covered under a local hospitals heart health plan. Health Insurance's only major benefit is extended hospital stays, surgeries, or cancer. Anyone 18 to 35 that pays $600 a month for health insurance is wasting money they could be socking away for retirement.

My son recently had a cavity. Took him to the dentist, who extracted it. That dentist visit cost $2400. My insurance covered $250, so we owe $2,150 out of pocket. I pay $612/month for family dental and health insurance. Something seems broken.
