These are tough situations we need to pray about. It leads to 2 thoughts: 1. We need more vocations. 2. We need to think about how to consolidate parishes where there have been population declines (a lot of rural places have less population than 50-100 years ago). The leadership of the Church does nothing to promote vocations among young men in America. I've even experienced boys (and men) reaching out with interest in vocations, getting no responses, etc. This is the clergy's fault. All the excuses about "kids these days" are proven false when those same kids enlist in the military at 18.

Pope chides Trump and tells him to talk it out. Seems like the Vatican talks a lot about the "Global South" but can hardly spare a slight criticism for them when they commit heinous acts of evil.

Here’s another way of looking at it: should the pope congratulate someone on their remarriage after a divorce? Should the pope congratulate someone on a same-sex “marriage?” Should the pope congratulate someone being ordained to a pagan priesthood? If not, then why should this situation be treated any differently?
