You might be expecting local byelections tonight, but there aren't any. We had one on Tuesday but that was it this week. So here's a kitten instead.

@archivetvmus71 One of the joys of my previous Parish was having John Cooper as a neighbour, he was the cameraman who filmed most of these classic Watch with Mother programmes, and went on to work on Emergency Ward 10 and Magpie :-)

@MathewHulbert Personally I wonder if it was ever his intention to lead the party into the next election. He will be 63/64 by 2029.

@GBPolitcs @DailyMail Once they discover how much parliamentary time would be required, and what the implications of this policy are constitutionally, it will be quietly forgotten about, I suspect.

@archivetvmus71 I loved Dave Allen. Not least the slightly subversive side, my quite liberal Mother wouldn’t let me watch but as it was Saturdays normally, and I was at my Nan’s, it mattered not. She was quite conservative but no qualms about letting me stay up late to watch, just not tell Mum!

@RegSimpkin @archivetvmus71 I was about 30 when I finally noticed that once out on the road, they drove by the same six or so houses over and over again…

She does, in fact, not really move to the “Garden of England”, but moved over the river. It was found to be virtually impossible to fairly be both ‘Arch’-bishop and ‘diocesan’ bishop in the 50s (when the power was far more “local”); why fabricate it’s possible now?
Religion Media Centre@RelMedCentre

As @ArchbishopSarah moves from London to the Garden of England, clergy in Faversham, Whitstable and Canterbury look forward to welcoming her when she is installed on 25 March. They hope for 'a reconnection between the local and the centre', say 'a glass ceiling has come tumbling down', and wish that 'she feels at home and finds the place affirming'. @woodg31 Apart from Mash I could easily watch the whole of BBC2’s offering. That must have been one of the first Gardeners’ World visits to Barnsdale too, aged 11 I probably watched the repeat of that with my Nan!

In my opinion, this is the best ident. It was simple but yet perfectly summed up what you were watching. I loved the balloon too, but not as much as the 1.

@liturgicalben @dnpocklington It was “you’ll be face down in the aisle” which always made me laugh. I preached on this at a Walsingham Healing and Renewal Pilgrimage about five or six years ago!

I’m in Whitley Bay. It’s lovely and it’s making me think of Whitley Warriors being live on Grandstand in the 80s. Can you imagine, younger viewers? Live top division ice hockey on BBC One on a Saturday afternoon. The past is a foreign country, they do things differently there.

@RAIL Farce is the word. We’ve just today driven from Milton Keynes to Bicester to get the train to Oxford. You need to leave about an hour to drive to Bicester before the 18 minutes on the train. The train from MK to Oxford will be scarcely 45 minutes… it cannot come a day too soon
