So an update
I exited my pool business
I’m currently in hyper growth mode on my HVAC business
We’re doing about 15x on ad spend and that gives us the fuel to throttle as spend up
We’re also built for about a 4-5x increase in revenue without additional overhead.
The marketing we’re running is scalable due to the team’s ability to close
My top tech will be on pace to make $300k by the end of the month with the ramp up we’re undertaking

California sits on oceans of oil and has killed the oil and gas industry with regulation.
Now their citizens are paying for it.

I'm in Los Angeles right now and I see the $7 gasoline prices, it's insane.
California has to import all of their oil from foreign nations because the government will not allow an oil well to be drilled.
Then the state ran out the refineries, they have lost 20% of their refining capacity in the last year.
Oil is also a global market, the strait shutting down affects the oil supply chain globally.
California just feels it's more than the rest of the U.S. because of their own stupidity.

CA has the highest state excise tax, climate fees, and regulatory hurdles in the U.S. while simultaneously shutting down the golden goose.
Regulations have stranded billions of barrels in CA. Here’s 4 min. We could learn a lot more in two hours.

@FracSlap There are also more EV charging stations then gasoline.
The reality is that EVs have won and importance of gasoline / diesel is diminishing. The transition will still take 10-15 years but it will decline from here(not grow)

On another note:
We export our crude in the United States because our refineries are built to process heavy crude.
We export light crude and import heavy.
Back to the point of oil being a global market.

We have major problems in DFW. Deed Fraud is getting so bad that the State had to pass new laws to try to prevent it.
My parents home of 30 years was stolen, along with probably 20 other homes. 20+ homes stolen, by one group, and we will never get our homes back.

I’m trying to be more like you guys so I just asked Claude to organize my desktop and it’s basically been taking screenshots and burning tokens for 12 minutes now.
is this the future?
Why not just fetch a list of files in the Desktop folder and do an organization pass based on file names and another after that based on file contents and call it a day?
Am I doing this wrong?

Most of you are going to fail with AI.
Not because it’s hard.
Because you’re too proud.
You’ve been the smartest person in the room for fifteen years and you loved it.
Ten thousand hours. The algorithms. The architecture diagrams you still think about.
Nobody cares.
Claude Code ships in an afternoon what took you a sprint.
And you hate that.
So you’ll find reasons it’s not good enough.
The code isn’t clean. You wouldn’t have done it that way. There are edge cases.
You’ll be right, technically.
And completely irrelevant.
The people who win with this aren’t smarter than you.
They just don’t need to be the one who built it.
You do.
That’s your problem.

Shocking the amount of people that think their Claude usage only costs $200/month
Most are probably running $5,000-$15,000 worth of tokens every month
Big reckoning coming for everyone who isn't aware of how heavily subsidized Claude code is.
