@PamphletsY I've actually been back and forth on this for a long time. The reason they are "separate" comes to old history and the disconnect between the territories due to difficult terrain. That said, they would both be sub continents of the true "Eurasia" continent.

@TheDoctorRegen My favorite answer (not the root cause) is feminism. Feminism pushed for women to work. Pay is intended to allow a household to live. Since both people can work, corporations paid half the income to each spouse so that the household could live.. on two incomes instead of one(1/2)
