London Green Party candidate Tope Olawoyin has quit in disgrace after claiming the arson attack that torched four Jewish Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green was an "inside job" by Jews themselves. She posted on X: “I can say with almost absolute certainty the men arrested are white… probably even Jewish.” This came after police arrested five suspects, including a 17-year-old British-Pakistani, and treated the blaze as an antisemitic hate crime. Olawoyin had introduced Green leader Zack Polanski on stage and was running in Havering on May 7. Green Party forced to accept her resignation and issue damage-control statements.

44 years ago today, during the Falklands War, my husband stood on the front line defending our British flag in the South Atlantic. Tonight on the 2nd night of Passover my husband will stand outside his synagogue in a stab vest. He’s the first line of defence. Today I visited a church and they left the door open. I remarked how strange that was but it was perfectly normal for them. I wish it was for Jews too.

The play "Sharif" explores the experiences of LGBTQ+ Palestinians who flee to Israel to escape persecution, drawing on real-life testimonies and years of research.
