On 23 April, the EU adopted the 20th sanctions package against Russia. The package aims to further cripple Russia’s economy and war machine and confirms the EU’s unwavering support for Ukraine and its people in resisting the Russian aggression. This sanctions package is far reaching. It comprises of 120 further individual listings, making it the biggest package of listings in two years. Today marked a promising beginning to the India–France Parliamentary Friendship Group. Our inaugural meeting in Delhi, with the French delegation led by Senator Mireille Jouve, reflected the depth of this vital partnership, ranging from mobility and talent flows to clean energy collaboration, defence cooperation, digital governance & AI, and shared perspectives on global challenges.
