Trump still thinks tariffs are paid by the foreign country, which is adorable until you remember he’s allowed near policy. Americans buy the cars. American importers pay the tariff. American consumers eat the cost. This isn’t economic strategy, it’s a sales tax wearing a flag pin.

@HMRCcustomers Why is it taking so long? Fuel prices increased from March. Can I claim back a higher rate? It's costing an extra £10 every time I fill up and I do alot of miles.

Mine are a year old and are still producing 4kw per hour, though the builders are still around in my area and there is alot of dust. Debating it myself.

Luckily there is no chemicals used in the cleaning- only pure water…. Sod paying 1p a mile ….right now in April 2 x EVs have eaten through 482kWh. (Apparently 😆) and despite @OctopusEnergy being my local petrol station my bill is small.

@LewisStanding1 @OctopusEnergy Don’t really follow that on octopus. I generally try to import later in the evening (cars). My big mistake was not having 8 north east facing panels at the same time as my 10 others… the panels are quite dirty as no rain but having them cleaned soon.

@HMRCcustomers Can you tell me when the HMRC are going to change their fuel advisory rates for company vehicles?, it's outdated. For example, from 1st March it was 0.14p for 1400 to 2000cc for petrol engines, that was probably based in or around £1.28 a litre at the pump.

@HMRCcustomers Let's hope it's changed soon because fuel increased at the start of March and it's now mid April with no change. It's actually costing employees money where it shouldn't.

@sean_irish1916 @ConnemaraFarmer I was in Dublin yesterday, I called into a large fuel station and all the pumps were out.

Paying exorbitant prices for fuel is one thing, and it's a legitimate grievance I hold myself. However, denying citizens access to fuel, effectively turning the country into Cuba is intolerable and not a legitimate action. Well done to all who removed the protestors.

We have contacted Keir Starmer again on the need for urgent action to support workers, families and businesses struggling with rising costs of heating, petrol and diesel. The power and financial ability to cut these costs lies with his government. Starmer’s continued refusal to act on the cost of living crisis is a clear political choice. People cannot wait any longer. The tax on fuel must be cut and a serious financial support package introduced for families, farmers and businesses.

@I0I0IOO0 @News_Letter I was thinking the same thing, what about the watch dog, Starmer was talking about, aparently these companies can't exploit the market. Next year it will show on companies house what profit was made and i hope they get huge fines.

@News_Letter Crude oil down to $97 a barrel. The distributors were quick to put the price up but dragging their feet on bringing the price down on fuel that doesn’t actually come via Hormuz.

@Ed_Miliband Solar panels do not work in the winter, I have them, 12 in fact and believe me, they produce very little energy on a cloudy day, not enough to power an oven never mind your home.
