I was a working class woman, married at 19, kids at 21 and 23, worked PT cash in hand, every penny went towards living costs. But I did go to college,make sacrifices, did buy a house.

I’m a pensioner. So I benefit from the triple lock. I get the full state pension. Which is £965 every four weeks; so equivalent to £1045 a month. I get the full amount because I have 50 years of working and paying my stamp and income tax. I get no other pension. It’s not luxury!

@FranksVoice1 @MissLauraMarcus Hang on 50 years ago women couldn’t get a personal pension at work. Most didn’t earn enough to save up. Women couldn’t get a mortgage in their own name either so no making money from that. Research before you assume we were all well off and had an opportunity to save!

@FranksVoice1 @MissLauraMarcus Personal pensions and ISAs are a luxury for people with extra money. Many just have enough to get by, especially now. It's definitely not they're fault it's just that some live hand to mouth with no extra.

@Masculincreed The titanic was an exception not the rule. Most maritime disasters resulted in the death of most of the women and children. The titanic was the exception bc the crew manning the lifeboats held men back at the end of a gun. The men weren’t noble. They were forced.
