I’ve lost money on over 9,000 ads I personally wrote. I’ve had over 2000 1-on-1 sales consults reject my offer. My first 300 episodes of my podcast I published with barely any downloads. In 9 different business partnerships, I was the reason we failed. 3 times I pitched an entire audience - and sold no one. Nobody is special. Everybody sucks when they start.

Does Github commit numbers still matter now? In the old days, we used to wear it as a badge of honor. Now it just feels like how much tokens you're burning.

I dropped French a few weeks ago. Kept the gym and the weekly runs. Held on two extra days before I admitted I had to choose. For years the company came first and everything else made space. This time health stayed and French went.

My first design money was $150 for a logo. Now, 10 years later, I haven’t built my own home or bought a sports car yet, but I bought my first brand-new car, and that’s an achievement.

I'm still finetuning/fixing things this morning, but the performance gains are real and undeniable. They don’t come for free, you still have to go through each page, rethink what belongs in the initial bundle, what can be deferred, and how to restructure things properly. On a small project it’s manageable, but on a large codebase it’s a pretty significant refactoring effort. AI makes it much faster, but it’s definitely not a one-click upgrade.

Day 10 since I launched my app. 📈 10 subscriptions 🌐 1,000+ unique website visitors 🧩 145+ Chrome extension installs Here are the biggest lessons so far: 1. Onboarding The #1 question after installation was: "What should I do next?" The onboarding explained too much at once instead of guiding users step by step. 2. The extension name wasn't optimized for search. Organic discovery in the Chrome Web Store is almost nonexistent if people can't find you by the keywords they're searching for. 3. Freemium helped validate the product. Starting with a generous free plan was the right decision, but now free users are abusing the product. Now that I see real value, paying users, and strong retention, I'm moving to a free trial + upgrade model instead of a completely free experience. 4. I started SEO too late. I waited too long to publish on app directories. Some Product Hunt–style websites are charging $99 just to list your app next week. Otherwise, you wait until October. That's wild. 😂 5. What I got right I listened to my users. Every piece of feedback made the product significantly better. In upcoming V4 everything will be fixed and I am super excited about it. ---- I'm also building SpacerrHunt. Think Product Hunt, but different.
