Hormuz is Iran's leverage. Iran will not open it for two weeks as a goodwill gesture because doing so: relieves the primary negative carry pressure on Trump, interrupts the normalization cascade at its most productive point, validates the coercive model Iran must not validate, contradicts the IRGC's morning declarations, and surrenders the November 2026 electoral pressure timeline. The Pakistan PM has created the right diplomatic architecture with the wrong central ask. The deadline extension request to Trump is viable. The Hormuz opening request to Iran is not. What Iran might accept instead: non-Hormuz signals that give Trump's TACO exit enough cover to extend the deadline without requiring Iran to surrender its primary leverage instrument. I'm not exactly sure what that is but we will find out in less than 4 hours (allegedly).

Something doesn’t add up… Before the war started, everyone I spoke to agreed the U.S. Navy (which is more capable than the rest of the world combined) CANNOT open the Strait of Hormuz militarily And everyone also confirmed what Iran warned: They will and can close the Strait of Hormuz if attacked Both pro-U.S. and pro-Iran analysts and military veterans agreed on both points So why the hell did Trump, who SHOULD have access to the world’s most capable intelligence and most experienced advisors, decide to enter this war? What am I missing??
