Rick's Coffee Bar in south Minneapolis has posted that their internship director Amos Ferrier has died from injuries received in a robbery. MPD just now released a statement: Chief O’Hara announced that a man died a couple of days after being injured during an attempted auto theft. On May 15, 2026, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Third Precinct officers responded to what was initially reported as a personal injury accident in the 5400 block of 43rd Avenue South. Officers arrived and provided immediate medical aid for a 38-year-old man who was unconscious in the street after being thrown from a vehicle.  The injured man was transported by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare with life-threatening injuries. Preliminary information indicates that the man confronted two individuals who were attempting to steal his vehicle. The suspects abandoned the attempted theft and ran to the vehicle they had arrived in. As the suspects attempted to flee, the victim was either struck by the suspects’ vehicle or jumped onto the hood.  The suspects continued driving evasively causing the victim to be thrown from the hood of the vehicle and sustain a serious head injury.  The suspects fled the area. On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the Minneapolis Police Department was notified that the victim had died from injuries sustained in the incident. MPD homicide investigators are working to determine the full sequence of events that led to the incident.  There have been no arrests. “This is a tragic event that has devastated a family and shocked the community,” said Chief O’Hara. “The reckless disregard for the value of human life shown in this case is horrifying, and those responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” The MPD incident number is 26-128233. Anyone with information is asked to contact Minneapolis Police investigators or submit tips anonymously through CrimeStoppers.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact MPD by emailing policetips@minneapolismn.gov or calling 612-673-5845 to leave a voicemail. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at CrimeStoppersMN.org. All tips are anonymous, and information leading to an arrest and conviction may be eligible for a financial reward.

🚨 Racists are desperately smearing Joshua Fox, the disabled Army veteran shot by Chud The Builder, by falsely labeling him a child predator Ironically, the man with 23 counts of solicitation of a minor is a completely different person — its actually a white man named Joshua Andrew Fox. Joshua Fox is the victim. Period.

@cicero_mn I like their seeded bread. I think it depends on the Aldi. I’ve never had any problems at the store in Otsego.

Aldi sucks. You need a quarter for the cart. 👎 The cashier is sitting down. 👎 No bags. 👎 After shopping at Aldi, you need to go to a real grocery store to buy everything they don’t sell at Aldi. 👎 One positive: you don’t have to return the cart because the people that shop at Aldi will fight over a cart with a quarter in it.

The higher you climb the corporate ladder, the more relationships matter. At entry level, your output is visible. You do the work, it shows up. It gets seen and you get a raise and promotion. At director and above, almost none of your work is visible. You're not doing the hands on dirty work, or at least in large amounts. You're making decisions in a room with a few people and the results show up 6 months later. Nobody can trace them back to you. So how do they decide who belongs in those rooms? They pick people they already know. Not "know of." Know. People they worked with and have seen operate under pressure. That person gets the call more times than not over the stranger with the better resume. The stakes are higher, so the trust threshold is higher. A bad hire at $70K is annoying. A bad hire at $300K who controls a $50M budget is catastrophic. And yeah, it's political. Not in the "office politics is a game" way. In the "if you make a mistake at this level, it doesn't just hit you, it hits your boss, your boss's boss, and so forth. So people protect themselves by surrounding themselves with people whose body of work they've seen firsthand. This is why "networking" advice misses the point. The goal isn't to collect contacts. The goal is to do good work with good people so that when a seat opens at their next company, your name is the first one they think of.

🚨💣 VAR BOMBSHELL: Premier League VAR errors have handed Arsenal a 4-POINTS edge in the title race against Manchester City. The Key Match Incident panel has recorded 23 refereeing and VAR mistakes this season. Two major errors directly benefited Arsenal. Everton were wrongly denied a penalty in their narrow defeat at the Emirates. Brighton suffered the same fate in March. Had those spot kicks been awarded and scored, Arsenal would sit four points worse off. 👀 City endured one costly decision against Newcastle but gained from another against Everton. Those calls left them no worse off overall. As the campaign reaches its climax, these officiating issues have given Arsenal a pivotal advantage in the race for the title. The title race wasn’t decided on the pitch; it was gifted in the VAR room.

🚨 Breaking: Manchester City are holding internal talks with Pep Guardiola over a contract extension. The Spaniard wants to continue at the club, while the club has always wanted him to stay. As reported earlier, there’s no pressure from the club regarding his future, it’s entirely up to Pep to decide. It’s also believed that Guardiola is in love with the current Man City squad, which has made him consider extending his stay. Discussions over a new three-year deal, in addition to his current contract, are still ongoing and it’s only a matter of time before everything is finalized.
