We asked UNESCO to do HRIA but nothing yet. The word “guidelines” means “how to do”. (It does not mean “how to do if you have democratic intentions”.) The UN encouraging authoritarian governments to regulate digital platforms is extremely risky. The platforms might listen too..

On June 6, 2023, Manushya Foundation, together with partners, was at @RightsCon to highlight the threats to our rights in the digital space in Southeast Asia. These include censorship, surveillance, and judicial harassment against activists.
