Under the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA), social platforms must use out-of-court dispute settlement bodies to resolve content moderation disputes. This is akin to turning what should be an orderly and subjective process into something resembling justice in the Wild West. X is already seeing cracks in the system, with immediate flaws emerging that undermine their impartiality & independence. Recently, three bodies approached X to review decisions: - Two imposed rushed deadlines, denying our company time to respond. - One was historically funded/staffed by a competitor. - Another is state funded/operated. - The third's expertise is vague, at best. Nevertheless, each has extraordinary authority to challenge our business. The opacity surrounding out-of-court dispute settlement bodies is not just troubling, it is unfair. The publicly available information about settlement bodies offers insufficient details on funding, certification, or impartiality. This information should be publicly available and comprehensive. X calls on regulators and these out-of-court dispute settlement bodies to publish certification and funding sources of settlement bodies to ensure the public can trust their independence and impartiality. At X, we're steadfast in defending free expression. We will continue to bring to light and challenge any process that undermines this principle.

When @Glinner landed at Heathrow, he was met by five armed police officers, and immediately arrested. His ‘crime’? Three gender-critical tweets. As Graham says in his Substack: “In a country where paedophiles escape sentencing, where knife crime is out of control, where women are assaulted and harassed every time they gather to speak, the state had mobilised five armed officers to arrest a comedy writer”. Graham’s single bail condition is that he does not go on X. We do not believe Graham’s arrest or the bail conditions imposed were lawful. We will be backing him all the way in his fight against these preposterous allegations and the disproportionate response from the police.
