Another horrible Flock story: Some dude has a license plate similar to some guy with felony warrants that gets misread by Flock cameras. So, every time he drives by a Flock camera, he gets pulled over by police at GUNPOINT. He's told he should get a different license plate... WHY?!? It's the Flock camera's fault. Change that! Someone innocent is gonna get seriously hurt or, god forbid, killed by this surveillance stupidity!

@everycountry197 No issues except I've only done once. I've read about others getting banned from doing too much though. I think it also cancels the rest of your itinerary.

Has anyone tried skiplagging before? For those not familiar with the term, it means booking a multi-leg flight, but intentionally skipping later legs because it’s cheaper to get to an earlier stop than via a direct flight Would love to know people’s experiences

As a German, I was scared to visit America. 🇺🇸 I’d mostly heard negative things in the media and from others. I came for the World Cup. I stayed because of the people. My biggest lesson: experience a country for yourself, not just through headlines. Thank You America. ❤️

@Freedom_CPA @denay39th The a series from Google has always been atrocious when it comes to cameras, I have the fold so the images are not the best, but I've heard good things about the regular model + Pro

After having tested and used so many different OS there is none quite like GrapheneOS. It doesn't try to get you to sign up for some weird service, trap you into a subscription or whatever. It is just an OS with the bare minimum stuff you need in a phones. iPhone comes next to it, I won't say iOS isn't a little bloated but it is nothing in comparison to Samsung phones Samsung OneUI I think whatever they have is atrociously bad, it's so many eco system in one system which is probably great for the regular person. We live in times where enshittification is rewarded by big tech companies and if you don't follow the enshittification your experience gets downgraded or flat out blocked. Pixel + GrapheneOS is my secondary device (I'm using it for this post) My main phone and people will get confused by this probably is a Xiaomi phone and I love it. I have two phones because one I want the upmost private and secure experience but I also want to have a camera that has a phone attached to it and that's where the Xioami comes in. I'll be using that phone for traveling taking images of whatever and possibly use it for YT/Streaming (face reveal (?)) Anyway cool little world we live in, terrifying, cool, awesome I mean we have @uwu_underground so we can't complain about much.

@CaryKelly11 I thought cooking heavy cream would burn it or make it curdle. Looks like it did neither...

Who knew heavy cream, eggs and salt could form such a delicious alliance? A little local cucumber kimchi and ham made it a meal that could rival any breakfast.

@gnukeith pixel 10 pro with grapheneos is my main and only phone, great camera even when using graphene camera app. If you want absolutely stunning pictures, create a separate profile with google services. Everything works, literally, idk why would i stick to stock android ever again

@gnukeith My main phone is de-googled Pixel with GrapgeneOS and I.love it. I have a "normie" phone that's a Samsung that I pretty much only use for work (i hate to admit but occaisionally Google Maps too).

@newstart_2024 I was literally searching for dumb phones with QWERTY keyboards the other day. I hate the screen keyboards.

Rory Sutherland thinks losing physical keyboards on phones was a massive productivity disaster. BlackBerry was better for typing, twice as fast, no wrong predictions on foreign names. He calls the iPhone triumph of novelty over utility, with a billion people wasting 10 minutes a day typing ineffectually. “Even now they’re bringing back the flip phones.” A sharp take on how cute design beat practical function. What do you think, would you go back to physical keyboards on phones?

I guess we’re going throwbacks of 2014. This was right before Jesus saved me.. Everyone is posting cute pics. I literally could not find one that was modest and not totally self absorbed except this one …. BUT OF COURSE I happened to be flipping off the camera🫠 Your throwbacks are better, but anyhow I’m thankful for Jesus Christ. He saved a real trash bag.

The only people I personally know who want Flick cameras are: - government officials - government employees - elderly

@Freedom_CPA @TannerBuilds Your memory serves you correct. They were great windows. Essentially unmatched in the industry. Now they are average, maybe slightly above average.

With my wife’s grandparents over the fourth. He says an Anderson window guy came by his house to give him a quote on all new windows (maybe has 30 total or so standard sized windows). How much do you guys think his quote was? (I’ll give you a hint it’s double what I thought)

@Paradoxreality7 @TannerBuilds Really? I didn't know that. They were in my childhood home in MN that my dad built. He always said Anderson & Pella were the best windows. I guess times change.

@Freedom_CPA @TannerBuilds They are overrated windows after selling out to China 8-10 years ago. From a guy who installed 30 windows a month for 10 years.

@Freedom_CPA That’s really tough - I’d probably do searches with both Google and AI to track down local stuff (I had this same problem years ago buying Dallas Cowboys t-shirts and such to take to relatives overseas- and it was all made in China. I just searched online, relentlessly 🥵)

My Mom wanted my Dad to get a festive shirt for the 4th of July. He didn't care except he wanted it made in the US, regardless of cost. He didn't get a shirt. Besides online, where can one buy clothes made in the US?
