Define a worn-out human, that is a person at once aged, decrepit, and vegetative? Someone devoid of intellectual curiosity.

Microsoft invests $10billion in OpenAI. Cuts 10 000 jobs. Equates to $100 000 per job. It may sound harsh, especially for those affected, but it could transform Microsoft and be a signpost to the future. #microsoft #openai #future

I’m sorry, I simply cannot be cynical about a technology that can accomplish this.

Working from home, at least part-time, impacts real estate and culture. Before you count how much rent you save, consider how much culture you lose.... See 'The Road to Belonging - Company Culture in the Time of Covid' #culture #offices bit.ly/belong4

@RyanCoetzee Looking at this from afar, the Lib Dems had a huge opportunity to be the only adults in a room full of spoilt and whiny children. Opprtunity not taken.

There are always a million things wrong with any election campaign but the real reason the Lib Dems did badly is because the Tories did well. And the Tories did well because: Jeremy Corbyn. Kier Starmer is the best thing to happen to the Lib Dems since Tony Blair.

Warren Buffet confesses: "I’ll tell you why I like the cigarette business. It cost a penny to make. Sell it for a dollar. It’s addictive. And there’s a fantastic brand loyalty". He only forgot to mention: it kills. It is time for a new logic - investing will never be the same!

As @DailyMaverick's original opinionista, I once had great freedom to express my opinions. In recent months, it has been made clear to me this is no longer the case, on several subjects. It is with regret, therefore, that must move on. 1/2

@dafrankel Time to think may well be the silver lining of this dark COVID19 cloud. And time to feel... and time, as we socially distance ourselves, to deeply reconnect. Wishing you and your family, David, a speedy return to good health.

Since last Sunday, I’ve been locked in my study with a dry cough/fever/headache. Despite trying since Monday, I was tested Friday - extended family had same symptoms and tested positive for COVID19 on Wednesday It wasn't been a good week, but it’s given me time to think. /1
