Iran: Brutal Public Execution of Three Prisoners of the January Uprising in Qom on the Eve of Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz For punishing two criminal State Security Force (SSF) agents Terrified of the explosion of public anger and the demise of 47 years of religious fascism, the bloodthirsty clerical regime committed a brutal crime today, Thursday, March 19, 2026. On the eve of Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz, it publicly hanged three young prisoners of the January uprising in Qom: Saleh Mohammadi, 19, a national wrestling champion; Mehdi Ghasemi; and Saeed Davoudi. The executioners' judiciary announced: "Three convicts of the January riots were hanged this morning, Thursday, March 19. The sentence of retribution (Qisas) and execution of these three individuals was carried out after completing legal procedures in the presence of a group of people in Qom" (Mizan, March 19, 2026). Their charges were listed as "Moharebeh (waging war against God) through drawing cold weapons in illegal gatherings and riots leading to the murder and martyrdom of State Security Force (SSF) agents" and "inciting people to war and killing with the intention of disrupting the country's security." According to Mizan, during the uprising, they had punished two criminal SSF agents named Abbas Asadi and Mohammad Ghasemi. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said that the regime's leaders are attempting in vain to escape the people's uprising through heinous crimes such as the execution of these three youths. On the contrary, this bloodshed only fuels the flames of public anger. At today’s press conference in Brussels, I emphasized that: The EU’s policy of appeasement has been the most significant external factor in sustaining Iran's regime and preventing its overthrow. We are not asking the EU for money, weapons, or foreign troops. We call for an end to appeasement, the regime’s greatest lifeline and the greatest obstacle to the Iranian people. The time has come for the EU to recognize the provisional government, to acknowledge the Iranian people’s right to resist the IRGC and overthrow this regime, to close the regime’s embassies, and to expel its agents. We also call on European and other governments to prosecute the regime’s leaders for crimes against humanity and genocide under universal jurisdiction. #Iran

At today's conference in Brussels, I recalled: Overthrowing the regime requires a powerful force rooted within Iran. Such a force, at the heart of a popular uprising, can bring this regime to an end. During the January uprising, the Resistance Units played a decisive role in organizing, guiding, and expanding protests, confronting repressive forces, and protecting demonstrators. A turning point came when 250 freedom fighters of the National Liberation Army (NLA) targeted the compound of Ali Khamenei. This operation, carried out weeks after the January uprising and the mass killings, sent a powerful message: that a capable and organized force exists within Iran that can confront the regime at the highest levels.
