But silence in the face of real racism helps no one — especially not the cause we claim to serve. Attacking Byron Donalds’ voting record or policy positions is fair game. That’s politics. What is not okay: • Using the word “lynch” against a Black conservative • Circulating AI-generated images of Byron Donalds lying on the ground like George Floyd • White nationalists like Joel Webbon calling a man who embodies merit-based conservatism a “DEI hire” These are not jokes. They are racial disrespect. And as a Christian, I will call it out on the Democrat side and in our own party — without fear of being labeled.
