An ancient score (4th-3rd c. BC) found on a marble slab in Vrasna, Thessaloniki. Letters in Chalcidic/Attic script reveal a symphonic-instrumental melody. Deciphered by experts, its notes Φα-Ρε-Ρε-Μι-Φα-Λα (F-F-D-D-E-F-A) echo a unique musical heritage. 🎼🏺 #MusicHistory

A foreign woman (tourist)on Eleusis' Sacred Way stops at the House of Heralds. Touching an olive tree, she stands still, as if the ancient soil transmits its memory, mystery, and soul to her bare hand—bridging the gap between past and present. 🏛️🌿 #Eleusis #Greece #History

One competitor managed to stay on top for 2000 years and that was Leonidas of Rhodes who was on top 12 times for individual sports. This record was broken in 2016 by the American Michael Phelps, when he won the 13th gold medal. Pausanias described him as the most famous runner

The suicide of Ajax. Metope from Paestum (6th c. BC). This masterpiece from Magna Graecia proves how Greek colonies preserved their heritage. Founded by Achaeans in the 7th c. BC, Paestum kept the hero’s tragic legacy alive far from the mainland. A gem of the Paestum Museum.

1/2) Two Greek tourists face up to 4 years in a Turkish prison for simply holding a Byzantine flag in Hagia Sophia. Turkey's Islamist regime used CCTV to hunt them down and now accuses them of "inciting hatred". Pure authoritarian persecution. #FreeTheGreeks #HagiaSophia

🇬🇷 This is peak civilisation. While others chased power or piety, the Greeks chased Arete — becoming the best version of themselves — and Eudaimonia, the flourishing that follows. No wonder their ideas outlived empires. 👑 In an age of mediocrity, we need this reminder more than ever. Homer didn’t just tell stories. He set the standard for humanity.

@FreshSummerWind 2 greek tourists wanted to open a Greek flag in Hagia Sophia in order to show how friendly and peaceful Greek nation is. But evil Turks put them in jail because they think this is provocation. This narrative is better for you.

4/4 Rituals & Mourning: Before marriage, girls cut a lock of hair as a sacrifice to Artemis or Aphrodite for blessings. In contrast, cutting one's hair short voluntarily was the ultimate sign of deep mourning, sacrificing their finest asset to honor a deceased loved one.
