@PranavSriraman The Spurs outscore their opponents 15.6 points with Wemby on the floor. SGA second with 14.7. With that in mind, one could only back SGA as MVP if they are arguing that SGA’s supporting cast in OKC is weaker than Wemby’s in SA. I’ve heard no one argue that.

Much love and respect to the great players in the NBA but there’s a better argument for unanimous MVP than anyone else

Luka Doncic hasn't outplayed SGA, Cade Cunningham or Jaylen Brown, according to Lou Williams 👀 "He hasn't had the impact and done the things that these other guys have done." Lou says the MVP race comes down to numbers 📊 @MichelleDBeadle | @ChandlerParsons | @TeamLou23

@Fried_Baseball @RunItBackFDTV @MichelleDBeadle @ChandlerParsons @TeamLou23 Talk the numbers it helps you, mvp is the most valueble players, ofcourse a elite player in a elite team is gonna have a net rating very impressive, but if we talk net rating like you want Spurs without Wemby → –3.6 OKC without SGA → +5.9 Lakers without Luka → –5.7 = luka

There is no way the 65-game rule should still be there next year. It is clearly a terrible rule and as I have said all along, it will have a big negative impact on long term legacy when great players have emptier award resumes because they played like 6 less games than someone not as good. Guys dropping out of the MVP and All-NBA race because they are just short of an arbitrary line that their competitors are just above is BS.
Bobby Marks@BobbyMarks42

Cunningham has 60 qualified games played and is currently short of the All-NBA criteria. The Pistons have 14 games remaining. Cunningham earned All-NBA last season and as a result, saw his rookie max extension increase from $222M to $269M.

In an effort to drive up the bid and value prices for the two new expansion franchises (currently rumored to be in the seven to ten billion dollar range), the @NBA has floated the idea of loosening expansion draft rules. According to two separate sources, one scenario being considered would allow current teams to protect ONLY 6 OR 7 players on their rosters instead of the 8 currently allowed by existing rules. The potential move would allow the two new teams to be more competitive sooner and give each of the current 30 team owners a bigger share of profits from the franchise sales fees. Which 6 or 7 Spurs players would protect if faced with this new possibility?

@SpursReporter @NBA I believe Keldon would be an expiring contract. So if I’m correct about how this works, I doubt we will see the Spurs extend him in advance because they would then have to protect him or lose him.

Wemby going all out on defense and playing good enough offense every night = too inconsistent Other candidates going all out on offense and playing good enough on defense = consistency Does he really have to go all out on offense & defense when there are mvps/mvp candidates that never got punished for not even playing defense? Also Ngl I think Wembys offball movement leading to teammates having open opportunities is underrated
NBA Courtside@NBA__Courtside

Skip Bayless says Victor Wembanyama is too inconsistent right now to win MVP: “When he decides before a game, as he did in 4 of the 5 Thunder games. When he decides he is going to play tonight, he plays his a** off. But there are many games along the trail, where I don’t know what he is doing. He just comes out and listen, SGA plays every dribble of every night and it doesn’t look, it’s not like Russel Westbrook hard because it’s not like, shocking to your eye. But you just playing at the same speed every dribble every night. So, to me he is still it, his team is still it.” (Via @GilsArenaShow)
