While the Trump admin works to dismantle the 2001 Roadless Rule, Congress is doubling down to expedite the destruction of our wildlands with H.R. 7695, which would repeal the Roadless Rule & REQUIRE new road construction, opening millions of acres of our National Forests.

From @ClarkCountyDES. 🐢 Look who is awake! @MojaveMax is stirring in his @SpringsPreserve burrow but has NOT officially emerged yet. It’s now official, this will mark his latest emergence ever - the 2nd straight year for a new record. On May 8th, 2025, Max emerged at 2:09pm.

Thank you @repdinatitus & @RepSusieLee for protesting the Forest Service's reorganization, which "would further weaken the agency by driving out experienced staff, disrupting operations, compromising institutional knowledge, & ultimately rendering its mission unachievable."

We all love desert tortoises, but if you ever encounter one in the wild, please leave it alone. If a tortoise is scared, it will void its bladder, potentially losing a year's worth of fluids that it needs to survive.
