@bryan_johnson @_katetolo We need help for perimenopause. That’s when a woman is going through serious changes. Truly changed me as a person. And doctors, even the female ones, just blow you off.

We now have a female Bryan Johnson. It’s Kate Tolo. She will become the most measured female in history. +$2 million of spend per year + Developing a female-specific protocol + Sharing everything for free To start, she will spend 3 months mapping her baseline. Men, in contrast, can get their baseline done in 1 or 2 weeks. + 3 months for baseline measurement + across 4 time points per cycle + doing the same thing every day + a dedicated full-time medical team For context on the extensiveness of measurement, during the past 5 years, we’ve collected 1.5 billion data points on my body. I suspect Kate will exceed that given technology has improved since I started. The goal is to create a repeatable waveform of hundreds of life-critical biomarkers. Once the baseline is acquired, she will begin interventions. We will try to answer practically useful questions and share all of the data + learnings for free. Can fertility be improved? + Should women cold plunge? + Can PMS symptoms be alleviated? + What should a female sauna protocol be? + Should dosage change throughout the month? + What keeps a cycle regular? + Does the body need more iron, magnesium, or protein at specific phases? + Should women fast? + Should recovery protocol change by phase? + What's the earliest detectable signal of perimenopause? + Can perimenopause be slowed? + How is cognitive load & mood affected? + Does stress impact men and women the same? Kate has suspected endometriosis. 10% of all women do. We will try to tackle this too. I am excited for all of the surprising things we will hopefully uncover. Unlike me, Kate does not have the innate desire to wake up at 4:30am and do six hours of longevity therapies. She’s the cofounder of Blueprint, building in the trenches with me since day one. She understands the game and how hard it is. In many ways, this is a sacrifice for her. She is a creative person, going from a life of freedom and spontaneity to a rigid protocol. Traditionally, RCTs have been viewed as the gold standard. But RCTs have underserved women. The FDA banned women from clinical trials for 16 years (1977 to 1993), and most "medicine for women" is still medicine tested in men. Demanding RCT-only evidence for women's health is demanding evidence that doesn't exist. There is not enough practical scientific literature for women to reference only RCTs. It leaves half the population without a path to know what to do. N=1 medicine is gaining ground and picking up where RCTs specifically fail. Individual science experiments give us signals that answer what to do on a day-to-day basis. This is even more important for women. If you’re new to Kate and my world, I want you to understand that we have your back. Our intentions are to be a sturdy, reliable force in your life. To care for your best interest as we’d care for our own. We want what’s best for you and our loyalty is to your existence. It’s pretty cool to be living in a time when we may be the first generation to not die. I’m not suggesting immortality, but lifespans so long that we stop thinking about lifespans. At the end of the day, the one thing we each care about more than anything else is one more breath. I’m proud of Kate for taking on this responsibility. It’s painful, exhausting and costly. The beginning of the world’s first n=2.

I've been praying the past few weeks. Unsure why. There's good evidence behind prayer. It mimics breathwork, calming the nervous system, dropping cortisol, and quieting the brain. Daily prayers show lower depression, anxiety, and pain. I'd like to develop a prayer practice. Growing up, the protocol was written for me. Explaining whom to pray to, the structure of the prayer, and the boundary conditions. I don't really know how to pray now.

This mother is catching some flack because she said she sits on the opposite side of the parents on her son’s baseball team. Looks like the outfield. She said she can’t stand the constant chatter and lingo - “Good eye!” , “You got a piece of it.!” , etc. and all the talk in the bleachers. Many put her down saying she is not a team player as a parent. But some others said they agreed with her. I am with her. I usually sat down the line on first or third base. I want to watch the game and not chatter all night and listen to moms and dads coach their kids from the stands. Or all the gossip. I totally get it. Do you understand where this momma is coming from and feel like she does or do you think it’s rude of her to disassociate with the other parents during the game?

Schools really need to remember that PARENTS are still the ultimate authority over their own children. If I decide my child is staying home, going on a trip, taking a mental break, or simply needs time away from school… then that IS an excused absence because I excused it. I don’t need validation from a doctor, attendance officer, superintendent, or anybody else to parent MY child. And let’s be real… some of y’all are way too comfortable acting like kids belong more to the school system than to their own families. My child is not a robot programmed to wake up every morning and perform on command because the state says so. Childhood is short, and I’m not handing over all of my child’s most important years to a system that thinks perfect attendance matters more than real life, family time, mental health, or experiences outside a classroom. If I want my child home for a week, send the work. If that’s a problem, I’ll homeschool and teach them myself. Reading, writing, math — none of that is impossible without a school building. And before people start with “they need structure” — structure starts at HOME, not in a classroom. Don’t send me threatening attendance letters like you have more authority over my child than I do. The school does NOT dictate my child’s life or schedule. My kids are on MY schedule. Not yours.

the parents bad behavior is being passed down to the kids. Our youngest is disabled. The hardest place to take our son is the ballpark. And having a travel ball kid we spend a lot of time at them. Kids are hands down the meanest there. A bunch of little arrogant mini gods walking around. I don’t know what it is about baseball that makes parents and kids be assholes. But we’ve quit taking him. We rotate who goes and watches so one of us can stay home with our youngest.

Every weekend new videos come out of fights at youth baseball games. As someone that’s at a youth tournament almost every weekend with 11 year olds I’m telling you objectively the behavior of adults is getting worse. Parents berating umpires. Umpires chirping coaches and kids. Parents chirping children and opposing coaches. It’s all embarrassing. If you are a parent that has found themselves a little bit over the top in the past I want to offer some perspective. We’ve had a 1st rounder. I was on the phone with 5 division 1 coaches yesterday alone. We send every graduating senior to college baseball at every level EVERY year. No coaches ever ask about their travel baseball record. Zero. Nobody cares. Just enjoy watching your kid have fun. There is absolutely no reason to crush 12 high noons and start throwing haymakers at some 20 year old umpire because little Billy didn’t win the silver bracket. Get ahold of yourselves you have to go to work on Monday keep it together hoss.

He has four older brothers. We are doing all we can to leave money in a trust for him (and some for them too) so that he can hopefully be in a good community. There are several in Texas that are phenomenal but they are $$$$. We don’t want that burden to fall on our other kids. We hope we can care for him financially once we leave and our older kids will visit him because they love him not out of dread and obligation.

I think my parents assumed she would die first due to their unwavering faith in God and praying this heart breaking prayer, but there is no reason to believe she will. I am the oldest, but am doing literally everything I can to try to out live both my sisters so I can be there for them as they leave one day. I don’t know what that looks like with my disabled sister other than I am committed to visiting her wherever she ends up. I am not even sure I am willing to be an executor anymore. I have my own very real limits. I am sorry you know this reality.

My entire family is broken and grieving over what is next for my sister who is severely disabled. People love to offer platitudes that perhaps she will thrive in a new setting or this will be best for her. No one is going to care for her as well as my parents have. Group homes that are state funded or take social security are often staffed by individuals with a six week video based training paid near minimum wage. There is constant turnover. You pray for someone who is compassionate and actually cares about this population, but some people are just there for a paycheck like any job. I am, unfortunately, justified in my grief and fear. My parents are justified in having delayed this so long that their own health is in jeopardy. I sat on their back porch Saturday and sobbed until my ribs hurt after watching my sister frighten my son as her condition worsens and her behavior changes in ways that feel unfamiliar. The pain is difficult to explain unless you have lived the dead end tragedy that is care for intellectually disabled adults in America and the survivor’s guilt that comes with being a sibling that recognizes I can not be the long term housing solution. It is outside of my means and capacity. I am a ship that will sink under those conditions. It’s taken twenty years of therapy to be able to say that and believe it and stand by it. Anyways, the death penalty is too kind for whoever did this…

Kamryn Jones is blind and can barely speak, but became pregnant. With no way for her to consent, doctors concluded that she was raped. Her family is suing her group home, caregivers and state agencies. “The whole system failed Kamryn,” her mother says. wapo.st/4tgsMwS

@Friendswoo65122 @Chettlar @Strippin Yes, I would. It's low normal. The Methylmalonic Acid test (MMA) is more accurate than serum tests. Serum tests are sensitive which can make them inaccurate. If you took any fortified B12 stuff within 3 months, it inflates your results. You should check out the B12 subreddit.

Parents really posted this prior to a tournament game. How isn't 1 person in the group like, "Nah, this probably isn't a good idea." As their daughters warm up behind them. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Kevin O'Leary says his mom died secretly wealthy after investing 15% of her salary "she kept 15% of her salary from when she was 24, invested it in telco bonds and the S&P 500, never touched the interest or the dividends" "when she died the executor said you gotta come down here, I said I don’t have to, we’re a middle class family, he said no you gotta come down here, I called my brother and said you can’t believe this"
