Pitch black when you are awake is a bigger issue than a sun rising when you are inside sleeping with your eyes closed. You know we’re dealing with a special type of people when they can’t comprehend this.

@FXweather26823 @RogerSeheult The first thing I do is rip open my blackout curtains that I have to have because the sky is lit until an ungodly late hour. Make bed. Pee. Take the dog outside. So yes, some of us do. I get up 2 hours before I have to leave so I can do things in the morning.

@knights_hs_bb @RogerSeheult Sunrise doesn’t mean full light in the sky and depending how far west you live in a time zone, it may take an hour to have full light. A lit 5:45 am morning sky is not reasonable. That is also only at the summer solstice. Not winter.

@RogerSeheult If you got to bed at 10pm, a normal bedtime for most Americans if not later, it will always be. Sunrise at 4:45am is awful. Blackout curtains sales will be lit though.

I’ve concluded that the only people who want permanent DST are millennials and Gen Z’ers who don’t have actual jobs and sleep until noon - and wealthy boomers who schedule their tee times for 2pm.

@oraetlabora1966 Gen X here- wrong. sunrise at 4:12 AM here in Wisconsin in the summer and sunset at 4:16 PM in the Winter with standard time. DST is so much better.

Umm I want DST so I don’t drive home in darkness at 5pm and only get a sliver of sunlight on my drive to work. Also call BS about it being for kids and waiting for busses, these kinds now start at 7am now, they are up and on their way to school before the sunrises now. Also again kids need sunlight too and if it’s all during the time they are in school. I’m tired of morning people thinking everyone else is. Who is doing tons of stuff before leaving for work outside in the sunshine?? Like 10 percent everyone else is rushing to get out the door to work.

The people who are like "EVERYONE WILL DIE!!!" have zero explanation for why people are not currently dying in droves in Bismark, Seattle, Portland, Bozeman, SLC, Minneapolis, and Louisville. Those places *currently* have darkness until ~8am during the darkest winter days.
