I’m just back to London after a weekend away with my family.
A busy week ahead, so now is the perfect time to go and do the big weekly shop.
Thanks to politicians not understanding how family life actually works I now have precisely 20 minutes before the shop shuts. It’s not going to happen.

I too grew up in a working class family. I was one of 6 & we often struggled to have enough food go around. My parents never saw it as the schools job to give me breakfast tho. These days, there are food banks & charities popping up left right & centre and a welfare system bigger than grannies bloomers… If parents genuinely aren’t feeding their kids breakfast, they should be looked into. But no, instead it’s yet another parental responsibility that will be handed over to the state as we high-five ourselves and pretend it’s “free”. Sometimes I despair. And no, before some of you ask; I don’t think kids should starve… I simply think parents should be responsible for their own children. Old fashioned, I know 🤯

A strange comment. Having blocked Burnham from standing, many commentators believe Starmer's position has become much more fragile.
If the PM's actions lead to the loss of a safe Labour seat - reinforcing there are no longer any safe Labour seats with him as Prime Minister - it's clearly arguable, probably likely, Starmer will be forced out. As Goodwin claims.

Lucy Connolly finally returns home to her family today. At last.
Her punishment was harsher than the sentences handed down for bricks thrown at police or actual rioting.
At that time, after Southport, Keir Starmer branded all protesters ‘far-right’ and called for “fast-track prosecutions”.
Days later, Lucy was charged with stirring up racial hatred - an offence that doesn’t even require intent to incite violence. Why exactly did the Attorney General think that was in the public interest?
Meanwhile, former Labour councillor Ricky Jones called for protestors to have their throats slit. Charged with encouraging violent disorder, he pleaded not guilty and was acquitted by a jury who saw his words as a disgusting remark made in the heat of the moment, not a call to action.
Juries are a cornerstone of justice, but we shouldn’t have to rely on them to protect basic freedoms.
Protecting people from words should not be given greater weight in law than public safety. If the law does this, then the law itself is broken – and it’s time Parliament looked again at the Public Order Act.

@KirstieMAllsopp I worked from home in my 20’s. Decided I wanted more interaction so got a morning only job to get the social aspect I needed and WFH in the afternoon. What I didn’t do is demand everybody changed their way of working to suit me. It’s called choice for a reason.
