@WestcottPE Yeah, & so many level/build opportunities for whatever skill you’re teaching. Can start as tag, then build with ball skills, then add a shot at end or passes/catches to earn points etc. Have fun!

@FusionPhysEd This is great! This is also a great way to teach defense for a flag rugby lesson. I’m going to try it out when I get to that unit!

This is the beat idea I have heard of by a long shot. Nice idea Brian!

@CAHPERD @GavinNewsom 💡Replace PFT w/ a PE Oversight Council..every 2 years schools must submit a schedule showing compliance w/ mandated PE mins, stand based curriculum & choose between a site visit or submitting videos of PE learning experiences. Would motivate schools to provide quality #PhysEd 😊

A lot going on in CA about fitness tests right now. This week’s challenge: Reflect on how you administer the tests, the tests themselves and how you communicate results. How can we address CA's concerns as a profession? Retweet and reply. #thepechallenge #physed

@annaspringster @CoachSladecekPE Looks like a very large class size which has its challenges, but pedometers to earn points while waiting & a group assessment on previously taught dribbling, passing & shooting skills would be pretty awesome.

@CoachSladecekPE Could the students standing engage in some type of exercise or peer feedback to heighten the level of student engagement for all of them.

As are loving Box Ball! Their # gets called, dribble around the group, bounce pass to each team-mate , them shoot until you make it! First 3 balls to make it back to middle of the box wins!

Unfortunately the ones who suffer are the kids we have the pleasure to serve daily. They deserve fun, engaging, high quality instruction & the opportunity to be assessed creatively & meaningfully to ensure they’re learning what we want them to learn. Whatever it takes, right?
Brian Nassif@FusionPhysEd

@trentsuzuki Makes sense right?! But I’m sure a lot of districts/schools/unions would be against the idea since it would “strongly encourage” them to get creative and get to work...not everyone is intrinsically motivated to work as hard as you do for our kids!

@prism1226 We’re working on hand skills as well 🖐 And no problem, I pick up a lot of these ideas from others helpful shares & modify to work for us...just paying it forward 😀

@FusionPhysEd Thank you for explaining. I am in the second week of ball handling and these are great new additions. The videos are very helpful, too. :)

@prism1226 Thnx! Yep, offensive player makes a move to step on a spot before defender steps on the spot, we switch every 3 attempts...can add points or a b-ball as a build. Dribble math can add up to the number called, or call a number & subtract to 0, etc.

@FusionPhysEd Love all of these! Just want to make sure I have these directions correct- dribble fake has a player on offense make a move to a spot before the defender gets to it. Do you switch each time? Dribble math, are the students looking for the factors that equal the number you call?

Sometimes it’s okay to infuse a little transactional leadership to create a transformational leader! Thanks for all your ideas as well Brian! Our PE Youth Trainer program here @Central_EUSD that you influenced has changed our campus culture! Love our collaborative efforts!

@trentsuzuki Thanks again for the idea, it’s been a big hit this year!

@Mr_C_PE Thanks Ross! Yep, simple way to learn about ready position, offense & defensive strategies etc...and I gave some advanced groups the option to dribble bball as they play :)
