My grandparents risked everything to immigrate here... My parents were the first in their families to become educated professionals, brought us up to the middle class... I have large shoes to fill... Its my job to take this bloodline to the next level... Financial freedom!

@kslik7 @StefanMolyneux Good questions. The line between holding back too much creating resentment and "you caused my unneeded suffering" that can break the family bond longterm vs creating a weak spoiled entitled adult.

How much should parents financially support their teenagers and young adults? If they have an inheritance or something like that should we wait until they are adults and have secured their own job and money etc? I don't want to cripple my son by giving him too much but I also want to help him get ahead. Its a fine line to walk.

@TMTLongShort When aging becomes optional...the ramifications will be wild. Moreso if how long you live is tied to your own wealth

@BriannaWu The most likely advance would be to fix the issue so it never happens, vs making it happen easier. For example (not 100% same topic obviously) if they found a gay gene, and figured out to control genes. The obvious step would be to get rid of it vs making more people gay.

One reason I feel confident science will eventually find a biological basis for transsexuality is most of us have this same gawky, thin androgynous look before we transition. There’s gotta be a reason testosterone bounces off us. And it’s gotta be related to why testosterone breaks our brains.

@hurdurr6 @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson The focus and judgement is the point. Obviously they are differant. You have 2 bad things happening. But one is much easier to fix and is not being fixed. But yeah. Judge people for shooting eachother across the pond. While your grannies in equal numbers die from heat stroke...

The craziest statistic you will hear all year: more Europeans die from summer heat than Americans die from guns

@DataMiming @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson Half the country refuses. American culture/ideology/laws makes this issue complex and alien to europeans/outsiders. Were as we all can agree heat death is bad and europe has no culture or laws that would prevent its govs from forcing this issue if yall really wanted.

@FuzzyFace56 @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson “Gun rightd are waay more complicated for many reasons” So the entire developed world has gun control that has reduced mass shootings by 99.9%. But the solutions they implemented (ban guns) is a 2 word policy that’s simple for everyone else but not the US? lol

@FuzzyFace56 @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson So you admit that modernizing cooling systems across the continent would be a major economic undertaking but easily worth it to save lives… and the only thing preventing gun laws that save lives is people’s feelings being hurt lol

@james_e_b_ @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson They already arrest you for bad words, regulate and tax you to hell and back and give you free healthcare. Seems this is a very easy step/law for them yeah. If they wanna be noce they can help you buy/install them...then just tax you for it later like with everything else.

@james_e_b_ @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson The gov gives you all free healthcare and regulates everything.Cant yall regulate all landlords/homeowners must install AC?Maybe even help them with rewards if they do?I dont get why such a silly way to die in wealthy countries is acceptable in countries that already control alot

@crypto_tarnado @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson The OG point was Europeans have always dug at USA having a gun problem. But then you realize they have a big problem too and yet would be 100x easier to solve and they just dont care. "Take the beem out of your own eye before you worry about the spek in your brothers eye"

@FuzzyFace56 @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson I mean this just turns into a whataboutism argument at this point. I already agreed that Europe should do better to improve HVACs. Guns should also be regulated in America. Not really sure what argument you are trying to win here...

@FuzzyFace56 @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson I mean people are free to buy their own air conditioners though in Europe. This feels like a false equivalence argument as people get guns and kill other people in America. People in Europe can't prevent other people from getting air conditioners.

@reader24601 @tmshrout @bryanrbeal @EWErickson you dont see how this is waaaaaay harder to deal with then just helping people get HVAC?!? LOL all this fighting proves my point. Europeans should be able to save all these heat death people before even talking to Americans about our gun problems.

@tmshrout @FuzzyFace56 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson I mean, yeah, they have. They’ve ruled on the Defense Production Act. It is legal in rare and extreme circumstances. They’ve also ruled on eminent domain, another seizure of private property. So yeah, you’re incorrect on this one.

@crypto_tarnado @reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson My point is HVAC infrastructure is easy and not a politically charged issue that everyone can easily support and would save alot of peoples lives. Vs gun rights is a deep cultural/political/ideological issue in the USA. Europe should fix its easy problems before judging...

@reader24601 @bryanrbeal @EWErickson Is this math even the point? Euros always attack USA about gun deaths but they cant even take the time to supply HVAC to the masses to protect them from even easier to prevent/non politcally charged issue? Seems wild if the number are even anywere close to correct

@bryanrbeal @EWErickson Didn’t notice it was EU proper, not all of Europe (which, to be fair, is what your tweet said). Even if it’s just the EU, though, the per capita death rate from guns in the U.S. is still higher than the per-capita death rate from heat in the EU
