As we launch our #G4CAAT10 activation, it’s incredible to look back at how we started as a group of young people in 2016 and see how far we’ve come. As Our Strategy Lead @JoanitaBabirye shared, "We all need to be aware and be cognizant of the fact that the climate is changing, and we need to do something about it." The Gulu #GreenpreneurshipBootcamp is underway, bringing together young people from the region to develop innovative solutions to local climate challenges. In partnership with @UNDPUganda and district authorities, we hope this initiative will empower adolescent girls and young women to turn their insights into practical green enterprise opportunities. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and community engagement, participants are actively working towards sustainable development and climate resilience in Uganda. A new journey has begun at Iganga High School SSS. With support from our #ClimateFellow, we held an inception meeting to establish the #GreenMaster Club, bringing together the club leaders and patrons to introduce the programme, share how the club will work, and shape a common vision for the term ahead. We were also glad to develop this term’s work plan together, an important step in turning ideas into action. It is always powerful to see young people step into spaces of leadership, learning, and climate action with energy and purpose. Today we celebrate the continued leadership of the #EcofeministClimateFellows under Girls for Climate Actionyoung women who are actively shaping climate and gender policy conversations. Across different advocacy spaces, these fellows have been contributing powerful perspectives grounded in the realities of communities living on the frontlines of climate change. Most recently, they developed and presented a collective position paper designed to inform discussions at #CSW70, 2026. The paper brings forward the lived experiences of communities, highlighting the intersection between climate impacts and gender inequality, while calling for stronger feminist and community-driven climate policies. By documenting realities, amplifying voices, and engaging in policy dialogue, these young ecofeminist leaders continue to show that meaningful climate action must be rooted in justice, inclusion, and lived experience. Young Artivists Shine at #PaintAndPour Fundraiser in Jinja, organized on #InternationalWomenDay2026, bringing together art, advocacy, and community engagement in a vibrant event that showcased the power of creativity in advancing climate awareness. Among the highlights of the event were performances and exhibitions by trained artivists, who participated through a dynamic fashion show, an engaging stage play, and a compelling painting exhibition. Their work reflected the growing role of young women in using artistic expression to raise awareness and inspire action around #ClimateJustice. The #PourAndPaint provided a unique platform for artivists to demonstrate how creative spaces can be used to amplify urgent social and environmental messages while also strengthening community support for climate initiatives.
