The world has some incredible people in it, like Paul. These images also serve as a reminder of where we came from and that there’s more going on in the world than the fear porn your algorithm is feeding g you.

Some of the last people to live completely out the jungle disconnected from society. They still lead a hunter gatherer life. We are currently protecting over 120,000 acres of jungle for wildlife and native peoples, join us: Junglekeepers.org

When my grandmother was 99 she had a pacemaker fitted. They flew her to Wellington for the operation. Before they went the guy asked her if she wanted to be resuscitated. She said yes. The guy then asked her again, explaining that it can cause quite painful injuries. She was a completely capable woman of full mental capacity and said yes she understood and please resuscitate her if she needed it. He then asked her a third time, telling her that her quality of life might be different. At that point, my grandmother turned to my father and asked “What does he want me to say?” and Dad then intervened telling the now very defensive guy to knock it off. That kind of low level pressure happens in the health system every day.

@evakiwi @PronouncedHare This is how I know how unserious you people are on this subject. No basic concept of the legal structure or medical implications.

@evakiwi @PronouncedHare Do. Not. Resuscitate. In order to resuscitate, you must be dead first. Has zero to do with keeping you alive. It is my job to ask for DNRs and wishes in a dying patient, bud. By law.

@notherviewpoint @Edwenden @PronouncedHare We are, you’re just framing it differently. The decision comes before death, the actions come after. You’re forgetting that all of these patients at some point die for a reason and bringing them back doesn’t resolve the underlying they’re already battling.

@GCElLLC @Edwenden @PronouncedHare Then we’re indeed not talking about the same situation. I was talking about having the conversation with a conscious elderly patient who wants to be saved. Their choice.

@notherviewpoint @Edwenden @PronouncedHare I don’t agree with the UK model where they seem to declare you ineligible for resuscitation, but I will adamantly fight for the person and family to fully comprehend what they are signing on to by being a full code. That’s worth more than one sentence.

@notherviewpoint @Edwenden @PronouncedHare The number of 90+ year olds riddled with cancer, bed-bound, multiple strokes and MI’s that I respond to where the family screams “save them! Do everything!” Is a clear indication they don’t care about life, they are being momentarily selfish out of grief.

@PronouncedHare Yes happens every time you go to hospital in Wellington. Why am I in hospital? I’m there for you to make me well not try to force me to agree to assisted dying!

@notherviewpoint @Edwenden @PronouncedHare The persuading occurs because most people have a very poor understanding of the outcomes. It’s an attempt to grant them humanity and dignity in their final hours. We see it daily, the average person may see it once if they’re unlucky.

@Edwenden @PronouncedHare While this may be true.. why does any of it matter? I know plenty of people who would rather not suffer that kind of pain and they tend to vocalise that clearly. So to persuade the ones that do wish to be saved, even for a brief moment, feels wrong. Who are we to question that?

Currently in a parking spot war with another physician whom I don’t know. First picture is an anonymous letter left on my car after parking in a non-assigned “doctors only spot” Second is a pic of me responding to the letter, leaving it on my car today with my managers card added with THE NEW LETTER THEY LEFT ME TODAY in response to my letter. Absolutely insane, leave your name so we can talk like humans. Parking in this spot FOREVER AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME😂😂

@BoBbyPleWniaK Kicked myself for closing my 400 yesterday, kept my 405. Same dilemma - small “win” compared to large losses. What a cool way to end on Friday

I just stared at my 15 lots of 400 April short calls for 15 minutes. I really want to close them. 5k. Is it worth it? I don’t know. I guess they will stay on. I thought about rolling them up and out. But I don’t like pushing past earnings. It’s all 5k. And it’s not like pocket change. But when the account drops 100k a day, it seems unnecessary to have the 5k hedge on. Just frustrating. $TSLA

No it’s not but the Archbishop of Canterbury is and the history should be noted. The Christian community was isolated when the Roman Empire left Britain in the early 5th century. The political anarchy and cultural mixing with Saxon paganism left a very different Christianity. Pope Gregory the Great sent Augustine in 597 to rebuild and restore the church. He not only brought the island into communion with pre schism universal Christianity but created a cultural foundation the would eventually lead to the nation state of England . Nerding put on Roman empire, church history, and English history in one tweet. ✅ 🤓

@BoBbyPleWniaK Short called 400 & 405 but further out. Cleared 400. Looking for an attempt at 383 and I’ll add again. Like you say… hopefully one of these days the calls get burned and we’re done with this
