Michael Bon, 33, "of Brockton, Massachusetts," faces homicide by vehicle and other related charges for the death of Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Pahira Jr., 44, of Schuylkill County, according to state police.
Bon was arraigned with bail set at $700,000.

Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael E. Pahira was killed during a commercial vehicle inspection on I-81 in Schuylkill County around 7 AM this morning. While inspecting a semi-truck, another semi left the roadway and struck both Pahira’s pickup truck and the back corner of the trailer Pahira was inspecting. Pahira was trapped under the striking semi and was dragged down the road. The semi that left the roadway caught fire while Pahira remained trapped underneath. "The driver of the tractor-trailer that struck the inspection scene was transported to a hospital. Police have not released the driver's condition or identity."

We have seen this surge in immigration detention arrests in South Florida, where an immigration check-in center is being used as a makeshift detention facility. People are being detained in office rooms at the Miramar ICE-ERO building for days while forced to sleep on the floor.
